2015 pro Rmk possible motor damage

I have a 2015 pro Rmk and changed the primary spring and I torque it all up and when to fire it up and it started selling and I stopped it as soon as I heard the sound so I took the primary off and noticed the back of the primary was gained down and it was grinned against the pto bearing guard.

Some questions I have

- is it possible I over tightened the primary onto the shaft pulling it farther than it can go.

- did I do any motor damage like pull bearings or other possible damage internally.

- what reason would it do this

So you used a torque higher than the specified one? Did you apply any lubricants to the cone as well? Seems strange that the clutch should sit to far in on the cone, is there any cracks in the tapered end of the clutch?
If you managed to start it I would imagine that it was only touching the bearing guard lightly and the engine should be fine :)

Clutch must be cracked, it's tapered so it's not possible to put it on to far! probable need a new clutch and when you pull the clutch of again take pto guard off and clean behind it and then reassemble. Primary clutch torque is 80 ft lbs and then you ride it and retorque it until it doesn't take anymore torque.

You can change it on the sled without a compressor of any sort, many do remove the full clutch though.

take it back to Polaris it's under warranty . don't sweat it to much stuff happens . there is nothing you could have don to cause that.
