2015 Ford Super Duty uping the ante

Agreed. None of the new trucks are anything I would buy for looks. The 2017 raptor grille looks a little better, but I think that is because it is at least trimmed on the bottom.
The Raptor looks SHARP!

That camouflage superduty has handles protruding from the doors like a dodge or chevy. Different from the last 18yrs.
That one also has a baby tail pipe for a gasser.

I've often wondered why they don't do a V8 turbo of some sort. Maybe the cost associated to do that would be pushing the cost of a diesel, at that point why not just get the diesel?

A turbo helps but there is no replacement for displacement

Can't imagine just adding two more cylinders would make that big of a difference in over all cost.

Cost would be a factor. Not a huge factor, but I'm still concerned about low end grunt with the turbo'd gas. Per gallon diesel still has more power in it.

I'd love to see more engines to find the right one for the application that you specifically need.
 
Question is, will Diesel costs be racing ahead of Gasoline once again as the months go by.

Right now its on par, but it could easily jump back up at +1 per gallon again
 
My guess is a 6.2 l ecoboost for example would be at least 500-550 hp EASY. And they may not want that much hp outside of a mustang or something in a gas motor.?.

Although I would say the power bump on the Powerstroke is going to be in the 500-520hp and 950-1000 ft lbs zone. That way they stay ahead of the competition.
 
I think they need to work on getting the mileage back up to where the 2011 is

So yesterday Ford introduced the LIMITED EDITION....
Good chance we will see this in the F250 later on.

Ford is upping the ante in the pickup truck wars, announcing a new version of its best-selling F-150 pickup Tuesday that will have massaging seats, a 360-degree camera system, the same interior wood found on a Bentley -- and a pricetag that could hit $60,000.

The new F-150 Limited shows how the market is demanding more feature-packed pickups at prices that can easily exceed those of top luxury cars. Ford's F-150 Limited will join offerings from Fiat Chrysler's Ram truck division and a resurgent General Motors in trying to one-up the others when it comes to piling on luxury features, and adding to costs.


"The F-150 Limited sets a new bar for what discerning customers should expect in a high-end truck," said Raj Nair, a Ford group vice president, in a statement. "We're adding segment-exclusive technology, and features that improve productivity, convenience and capability with distinctive style."
The Limited is only one of a slew of luxury trucks in the Ford line, like the King Ranch and Platinum, all of which hew far from vehicle's tough image of hauling hay or concrete. But Eric Peterson, the F-150's marketing manager, says customers tend to use their trucks for both work and play. "If you're buying a high-end truck, you want to haul." And tow. Whether it's horse trailers or boats, the Limited can tow trailers of about 10,000 pounds.

The Limited returns to its place as the top of the line with the 3.5-liter turbocharged engine as standard equipment as well as features such as the large sunroof and adaptive cruise control.

The truck has unique 22-inch aluminum wheels, a special grille and badging in places such as the tailgate.

The truck will go on sale this winter.
 
I'm sure the limited will be over $60k. I saw an XLT Lariat that was loaded up with the Ecoboost at Cabelas the other day. It was priced at like $60,800.
