2014 problem

My brother in law just purchased a 2014 pro. The sled has less than 200 miles and started to develop a random rev limit. The sled will hit the rev limiter when trying to simply take off. But its not the regular rev limiter its like the reverse limiter that is set way low (and no he is not in reverse.) Has anyone ran into this before?

Haven't seen this one.

Actually, can he make a video and film his gauge while trying to operate?

I know he caught it happening once on his gopro but not sure if you can see the gauge. I will get ahold of him and have him send me the video.

I have the same thing with my 13, I was told it was due to ice build up around the throttle cable. If you grab the brake and rev it up it fixes the problem.

Only happens to me after taking a break on deep days.

What weights are you running?

Can't tell if that's more of a hesitation, or a rev limit issue...

I believe if the engine is too cold it will do this. I expect it is a safety feature or could be the pipe is not hot enough to run properly. If the engine is warm than look elsewhere such as TPS problem.

Make sure the tors plug didn't come loose or unplugged in the bundle by the steering shift under the hood. Happened to my brother last week. His threw a check engine light though.

Agree!!! Colder coolant temps allow for fuel enrichment with lower pipe temps. I've seen this and heard this from the guys trying to prove to me that they don't need to warm up the sleds first.

Also seen this myself when intake vents are plugged.

The sled was defiantly warm, but he finally dropped it off at the dealer. Once he gets it back I will report back with what they found.

Sounded like a powder bog to me. Once he threw to the left after the :50-:51 second mark it cleaned out. I was powder bogging the exhaust all weekend up in the Snowies all weekend.
