2013's Really?

So really?

How many failures have we had for belts? What is causing the failures that have shown up?

How many shafts have broke? What is causing those failures?

I have read so much .net garbage in the last two weeks that I can't remember. Is it not breaking the belt in? Is it defective belt? Is it bad glue? Is it a weld that was missed?.....

I guess I am a big downer for Poo motors but I have seen that problem personally. Have not rode my 13 yet so do I really have a problem to be concerned with?

Also, wouldn't you agree that if there is an epidemic with the shafts, Polaris would take care of them under recall?

I think I get the intent of your post, but IMHO you are just fanning the flames further. Let’s get more sleds on the snow, everyone calm down and quit speculating. The true impact of these issues will soon be understood, but the internet right now is causing more confusion than providing answers.

I seriously doubt you will find out what you are looking for until there is more real data.

The last thing we need is more threads!! I'm not dinging you, I'm just hoping things will calm down.

I agree completely more than enough threads on this already!! Hugely blown out of proportion at this time, you only ever year the bad things in the news!! 2 belts with missing cogs that would still get you home. One openly admitted to not followning proper break in procedure, other I don't remember but likely failed to follow break in procedure as well. ZERO failures or blown belts that would have left you stranded. Around 8 drive shaft failures. There are suddenly a lot of keyboard engineers speculating engineering at fault but if many of the shafts are holding, as is mine after 230 miles I lean towards manufacturing defect. Either being lack of adhesive or inadequate bonding. Attached my shaft picture as I have in other theads. Lots of glue coming out holes and seams, glue is hard. NO ISSUES! If it goes I'll eat my words I guess, time will tell but if it hasn't gone with what I've done to it already not sure what I would have to do to get it to let go. Take everything with a grain of salt and don't let the fuel from other brand loyalists gunning for the pro scare you. Polaris will take care of us my friend, they won't let the positon of number 1 mountain sled slide easy.

I think with all the snow coming down up in revy you'll see the true nature of this issue rear it's head in the next 3- 4 wks with everyone getting out there and pounding on em, err i mean breaking the belt in yaya thats it.
oh yeah, doubt 2 cogs is gonna get you out of that bowl you just dropped into when ur wicked wide open...

That's exactly why I posted. I am tired of 3 different threads for drives. 2 or 3 belt issues. If the same person posts in each of them then he counts as 3 sleds that have lost a drive.

I am not so worried about the belt issue. That is still rideable if you are in the woods. Not so sure about the drive. If that goes out there will be massive carnage.

I will sit back and continue to watch it grow and see what happens.

i will have to look again but i didn't see any glue on mine.

Regardless of weather Pol takes care of it, your still going to have down time, anger/annoyance time, tow time, and all that goes with it.

All 4 manufactures need to get this **** right.. What kind of testing are they really doing?
Simulations on a computer?

Not hatin on Pol, I love my Pro, still...but I haven't road the XM yet.. ;)

Anyway, still curious to see where these issues go...if there are this many "complaints/issues/concerns" already...it probably will not get any better IMO.

Just us Sledders?

I don't ride motorcycles, UTVs, watercraft or four wheelers, so I have to ask, are there as many mass failures on any of theses different modes of transportation, as we see on snowmachines from the different manufacturers.

I just hopped from what IMO was the worst OEM mountain failure in a long time 2012 PC.

So maybe I am a little better prepared mentally (cause they all have issues). I really like what I see on the bench in the 2013 Pro. Very little needed to make it a mountain sled (really nothing) for my needs, unlike my last sled.

If all I need to fix is the drive shaft I am tickled and trust me I'll adapt or have one built before I'll give up half a season.
Like I said, I just may be more mentally prepared for this because of all the past experiences with this sport and what seems acceptable to the OEM`s.

Now to see IF or when I need to.

X2

Even if this is a issue it seem very minor compared to the issues I had on my PC.
