2013 PRO RMK Rumors

.

I couldn't disagree more. The 900 is a great engine. My '06 900 never let me down for six full seasons and close to 4000 miles of riding. It had the SLP single, custom intake and many dollars in weight saving mods, but it was an awesome machine to ride. Now, I have a '12 Pro and love the chassis, but already miss the shoulder-wrenching torque of the 900. I have wet dreams about the 900 in the Pro chassis. If Polaris built it, I'd buy it.

uuummmm, wes told me what causes your wet dreams is has nothing to do with an engine ..... sorry bud!

By the way Blair. Are you done hacking up the "dash" on your Pro ? I heard you were doing some "awesome" custom work. LOL !!

I heard that to make them sidehill better they will go to a one ski set-up. They may have to buy the patent from Snowhawk to do this. After this is all done, everyone will ride like Burant.

I would like to see the 144s go to coil over rear suspension if it takes going to a 146" track thats fine. As well as a 144 rmk assault, basically the switchback assault with grippers, 2" track and rmk gearing from the factory.

I would like to also see the bulk head cooler like on the standard rmks on the assault and pro rmks.

Somebody around here has a quote in their sig about the infamous 07 900 not being dead, just suspended for a while. That was 6 years ago. Lots of tinkering can be had in 6 years.

Considering all the jingle invested in that motor I'm taking a wild guess...the 2013 Pro will be offered in a retooled (fixed?) 900 HO in the 170 HP range.

Don't say Polaris 900 ever again!!! Ha ha ha we all know it's a 800 h.o. Or same motor as the last two years

My honest prediction for 2013 is for nothing less than Bold New Graphics... And probably not much more either... They seem to have a good sled and would be money ahead to just continue to reap the rewards of finally having a good total package!!!:face-icon-small-sho:camera:

900 coming back it got a bad name because it had so much power it broke belts and that caused crank failure can you say HP

same belt that all turbo dragons pros ect run that would destroy a 900, the only sled that i have seen that you litterally cant give away

if your giving one away ill come get it...as long as its the 159 or 166....wife says the kids need newer ones before dad gets another toy...but if its free she cant complain right???

my 05 151 was an awesome sled last year, and i've had a few mods done this year so it should be better....

I've heard a 7 pound weight loss and about 8 more horses. If the belt drive is worthy it will roll out as well, otherwise it will be another year of testing.

IF it's got more HP, less weight...and something trick like a belt drive, then I'm going to have a spring chub really soon.

edit: spelling

My guess is a bit of power...air frame type running boards and belt drive...which will all add up to 12 pounds or so lighter weight..

All the rumored changes already have me wanting to sell my '12 and get a '13. If they also give us clearance for a 3" track, then I'm in.

I am not quite understanding why so many peeps are so against the belt drive instead of a chain. If Polaris would move the brake down to the drive axle and put it on the clutch side some one like C3 would build a kit for it and everyone would be happy.
The price shoudn't be any more but they will boost it alittle just due to marketing if they do put in the belt drive.
I have ran the belt drive going on three years and not one problem with it. Before the drive i went through two chains with 20/49 gearing and 174 track and i know about keeping the chain tight but not to tight and all the other thinks that others will say i didn't do right.
As far as performance gain hard to say, weight loss is about 3 pounds give or take.
Packing and extra belt if need is alot easier as it only weights ounces. Havent needed it yet.
Anyway i think the Polaris is a great sled the last couple years and if i didn't have so dam many BRP parts and tools i would switch if i was buying new.
Price and the way the sled works are great and hope they don't screw it up.
Just alittle more power in what they have and the other two are in for a world of hurt.
Just what i see out there when you compare apples to apples.:face-icon-small-win

Is it me or do you think somebody let somebody else get a little look at the 2013's and some information got leaked and now somebody is making sure that somebody does their testing in secret so somebody else doesn't see what the 13's or going to look like so they don't tell somebody else what they saw?

Just saying, we had one day of info and just speculation since. I bet somebody got in trouble.

HAHAHA. The original poster in this thread sure sounded serious about that they were saying.

I think an HP bump would be likely...due to the fact they have left a bit on the table and there might be room for some more of that.

Lighter weight? I dunno...maybe there is room. There is always room for more weight loss, but at what cost? I'm sure they can find room to shave off a few pounds though.

I think a belt drive might be a big step for the masses..sorta like the factory pump-gas turbo that everyone has been wanting now for the past 5 years.
