2012 VS 2013 HP

Has anyone done head to head hill climb on the 2012 pro rmk vs 2013 pro rmk on one of the demo rides. I know a lot of people have said they felt like they pulled harder but has it been tested, You would think it would be a pretty big difference being 17lbs less and some of that being rotating mass, and was there any changes to the motor or HP. Im trying to decide to buy a hold-over or used 2012 vs snow checking a 2013.

Thank You,
Ape

logically the only difference in horsepower your going to see if the amount of horsepower that is getting to the track with the new belt drive being more efficient at getting the power to the ground. Otherwise the Engine is the same one that's in the 2012

I wouldn't worry about the HP. I ride my wimpy low horsepower sled with people that have sleds with 20 more ponies under the hood and are lighter riders. I have not noticed any difference in where the sled can go or what it can do, besides the fact that it gets unstuck way easier. Get a good warranty and ride the hell out of it.

BINGO!

So far I've noticed it's more about rider than the extra 20-50hp

However, I don't ride with the best of the best or anything like that. My buddies are normal people who go out to have fun and aren't crazy gear whores.

I wouldnt worry about the HP, its cheeper to add 20 horse to bring it up to other companys compared to trying to drop 60 pounds or however much they are lighter

Ape,

I'm sure the leftover 2012 would be cheaper but...

For me personally the Snow Check four year warranty option on the 2013 makes that the choice.

With the cylinder skirt failure issues experienced by a fair number of people the benefit of a four year warranty is very significant.

My $.02...

Whoa buddy!

Just trying to justify the 2,000 dollar difference between the 2012 and the 2013 leaning towards 2013!

We got to ride the 12 and 13 back to back...the HP "feel" was insignificant...BUT...the 13 handles noticably better than the 12.

It will probably take an impact from ReTodd about the same, though!! :D

I'm not worried about how she will lay over I've never had a problem in that department I was wondering power wise thank you modsledr, so it's a difference of 16 pounds that's not that much of a difference when it's a deep and heavy day in Washington

We seen 2 to 3 sled lenghts on the 13 over the 12 on firm packed snow up a long hill on friday at daniels summit.

It's not that the sled feels 14 pounds lighter.

It's the center of gravity and also roatational weight.
I'm telling you there is huge difference on how it feels over the 12.

CENTER OF GRAVITY:
Taking off 14 pounds by itself normally feel like much....but as I had said in another post in another thread...the 12 wanted to hug the road and bomb holes on the way into the riding area. The 13 didn't feel as heavy and it floated much better. It felt lighter when it was in the air. It floated back down to the ground smoother.

ROTATING MASS:
Chaincase vs belt drive...the belt drive goes to work quicker. More efficient. AND less otating mass just allows the center of gravity to feel even easier to control.
