2012 summit x or 2012 800 PRO-RMK ?

Its hard to say which sled is more reliable because any sled can take a crap at any time... And people make the 800 polaris motors sound worse then they are. People don't post on here how good their sleds are running, they only post when something goes wrong the majority of the time.

2013 Pro! Belt drive, carbon fiber over structure, new boards.....22lbs lighter than last years. If it stays in one piece nothing will be like it!

Both machines are very capable and you wont be dissapointed with either. Unfortunately, no one can tell you which one YOU will like, just what they like. If you like your XP you probably will love the E-tec. Dont ever jump on the other brand and you wont know what you are missing. Test each one with some serious seat time and you will know which one is for you.

Both have their strengths and weaknesses. In a straight out hill climb the Skidoo will win. Skidoo wins the power/highmark battle for sure. The Pro IMO is the best chassis on the snow because it handles so much better than any other sled out there.

Now if only I could get a Pro with an 800 E-tec motor in it I would be the happiest guy on earth.

This is true for sure, but I know of a few that have blown (one at 5 miles!) and one guy who has already been through 3 broken a arms. Just bad luck? Maybe, who knows, but if I'm gonna spend that kind of money I want to be able to really ride it. I know it's not realistic to get light weight, good value and durable, but I'll settle for light and durable even if I have to pay more.
I would love something as durable as my 09 M8 has been. I have ridden that thing hard and it hasn't skipped a beat. Sounds like the Pro would be appealing, but the Ski Doo looks to be more durable.

For example I watched a friend case the biggest rock that was hidden under the snow. The upper a arm was bent, but still very ridable. We kept on riding with no problems (until I blew my knee out!), and low and behold find out that part is only $75 to replace versus the $200 plus for the Polaris a arm (aluminum versus steel I guess).

Lots to think about while I rehab I guess. Both seem like great machines.

The '13 RMK looks schweet with the new belt drive and 417 lb weight. I was planning on getting one, but the new '13 Summit X also seems worthy of consideration.

Has anybody got a chance to ride the new Doo chassis? How's it compare to the RMK?
