2012 Silber -UNBELIVABLE!!!

Installation:
- Straight forward but could be updated with more and current pictures. (Esp. the electrical)
- Install is designed so the kit is completely removable. But there are some better ways to install. (eg. Cut 1.5" off of the coolant hose going to the head...this will simplify the install a lot)
- BD's instructions were better when I did my 09 Dragon.
- Otherwise a good install

Performance:
- I set it at 8-9psi at 2500' with 100LL and 74gr
- I ran this kit from 2500'-8000' (4-5' of powder in the trees and 2' of powder in the alpine)
- I did not have to change a single thing!! I tried to get the bottom end a little cleaner and could not notice the difference at all.
- There was definately more performance to be had but was very impressed at the fact that there need be no tuning changes! ( I could have turned the boost up in the higher elevations but did not have enough weight in the primary)
- On the trail up I checked at 5000, 5500, 6000 rpms and held the throttle at a constant for over 2 mins each and no lean spots at all.
- I tried a few long pulls in the alpine and pulled some 2000' climbs. I held it wide open and never feathered the throttle. The power never faded off nor did I hear any missing in the ignition and best of all it never seized.

Cons:
- The boost controller doesn't seem to effect the boost precisely...you just keep turning till there is a noticable change.
- The boost gauge is cheap...not even liquid filled so the needle is flopping around. Justin could have charged us all $50 more and put in a better gauge.
- I broke the bolts that hold the airbox to the intake boot.( I tightened then just a little past contact... oh well) And they are Grade 8 bolts. I'm going to talk to Justin but maybe a guy can rig up an exhaust spring in there instead. *** I rode another 35mi with the bolts broken at 8-9psi and never backed out of it. The airbox still stayed connected...FABULOUS***
- On my airbox the intake pipe could have been turned up a little more and then the tube from the turbo would have connected better as the turbo pipe was higher then the airbox intake.
- Some ratcheting after 60mi of boost....I might have stretched the track a little hahaha

Pros:
- No need to adjust the fuel box settings
- Consistent running
- More primary weight required for less boost... only compared it to BD
- So far doesn't seem to require an intercooler
- Great customer service-NO OTHER COMPANY WILL RESPOND TO YOUR EMAILS AT 2AM

The pro is the best stock sled that I have bought and Silber is the best turbo kit that I have bought and installed BAR NONE.

Thanks Justin

Back to riding...after I figure out how to fix the airbox bolts

That's what I was hoping to hear! Mine is being shipped so I'm waiting for the fun to begin. Thanks for the update and the tips

Nice review! Im lovin my sliber too!

The airbox bolts dont "hold" things together... Like you said the airbox is on there so well and tight.. the bolts are only there so the airbox dosent blow off the tb's. So you need them that tight

great review. i agree with the boost gauge 100% The kit is top notch clutching he gives you is quality parts built by team and his service is awesome. I called him from the top of the mountain just because i was so pleased with his kit and had to let him know.In stalled and rode no hicups or burbles (not a tunning nightmare) How are you running your clutching?

buckshot

x10 on Justin customer service !!!! I just got done with one for buddy I added a couple of things list fallows maybe it will help the next guy installing one of justins kits
1 . trash the boost gauge and get a liquid filled gauge
2 I welded a tab to the left side of the air box to reuse the stock fuel line holder
3. cut the charge air hose it will make a better bend
4 . I drilled a 3/16 deep hole in the air box flange near the right mounting bolt and tapped it so I could use a rubberized clamp to hold the coolant hose inplace
5. I made a jack shaft cover so if any of the hose clamps or zip tie failed nothing would come into contact with the jack shaft
6 I welded a tab to the waste gate mounting bracket that holds the waste gate I put a Z bend in it and drilled two holes I could installed a U bolt to hold the coolant bottle .
7 Everything that Buckshot said above is dead on both pros. and cons. this is the best kit I have seen so far

Whats a good liquid filled gauge that is the same size as the one Justin has? I may pick one up now before my kit arrives next week so its ready to go.

digital gauge

I would trust a auto meter gauge before I would trust a digital one but thats just me . plus no wires just one hose thats all it needs to work

I don't see any 2 1/16" liquid boost gauges. Have to go bigger which I don't really want to do. Anyone know of a liquid on this size?

cr racing has a really nice gauge mount

I installed the CR gauge bracket and an auto meter boost gauge (hard to see in pic with phone flash) with auto meter carbon fiber pods just to change it up a little.

X2 on install and tuning. Everything seems to be right on. Justin is always there when you have questions. I would recemmend this kit to anyone.

how big is the actual opening in the gauge mount from justin?

Just gave these guys a call and seemed like a great company. He builds a lot of gauges for summit and jegs performance. Said if I wanted a 2" gauge he could make it, but it would be outrageously priced, something around 80-90 bucks. He was shocked when I said that was cheeper than it would cost me for the auto meter that didn't fit my bracket. Anyways, ordered the 0-15 psi 1.75" gauge. It's shipping out this morning.

One other thing I did was trim away the bulkhead where the bolt holding the airbox on ( PTO side) instead of trimming the bolt. It looked like it may still contact the bulkhead anyways. I probably took out 3/8" by 3/8" of material.

I replaced the stock boost gauge with an old ebc I got from my friend. I ended up using zip ties to hold the air box to the intake manifold. I have about 300mi on and blew he belt....I was running it hard I the trees when it blew, I was thinking of gearing the sled down to take way some of te stress on the belt. Has anyone else geared these Tpros down?

How is the zip ties holding up? What type of zip ties did you use?
