I'm looking at buying a base 2012 800 RMK and have had conflicting information whether there is an extra heat exchanger on the sled, just wondering if anybody could confirm if there is or not? I will be doing a small amount of trail riding and would like the extra cooling.

I don't know for certain but I can tell you that the ice scratchers work really well. They keep the motor cool and also keep the hyfax lubricated. Even if the base RMK does have an extra cooler, you have to be a little concerned about the hyfax (unless it has extra boogey wheels).

Yes there is an extra cooler on the standard rmk model.
Yes there is most definatley an extra cooler on the standard RMK. It is right in the front of the drive shaft in the tunnel. I checked this out when I went to the sneak peek.
You should run scratchers on both the pro and std RMK if you run on the trail regardless...
