2012 600 Turbo Pro

Thinking about doing a pro 600 turbo next year. I ride 7- 10,000 ft. What kind of H.P. do these put out at elevation? Right now I'm riding a 2010 800 Dragon 163". I've heard these are a pretty fun sled, whats everyones thoughts on them!

I would turbo it before a 800, would like a 700 but that is not a option. The 800 motor has a tiny footprint and makes a great 600. Yamaha never really built a 2-smoke twin over 600cc for a reason. I truly believe if you perfectly tuned a boosted 600 and 800 to make 200hp on a dyno @ 8200 rpm the 600 would go at least a day longer. Polaris 800 sucks, boosting it actually makes it last longer because you don’t have to rev the pi$$ out of it all the time and you can watch your tuning. I like mountainhorses idea of a 144 600 boosted, it’s not for high-marking but it will make ya feel like you can ride like a rockstar.

Bringing this thread back up because I have a T600 in the works. I snowchecked the std. RMK for several reasons. First is the additional cooling, my '11 Assault frequently ran 150-160 degrees with the scratchers down and the comp track throwing snow everywhere. The pro taper bars are a little taller than I like, the RMK bars are a little lower and I like the controls where I have reach them with my thumb. And I'll be putting new shocks/suspension all around so wasn't going to pay for the walker evans.

I've already got the EZ-Ryde under it with Zero Pros. Carl's is building some Walker Evans shocks with Fox components for the front. The track will get a modified f-bomb track mod. Then will come the Boondocker turbo with all the goodies!

Like Mountainhorse has said, should be the best of both worlds with the flickable 600 and horse power of the turbo. I have really high hopes for this sled!

I understand if ya would want a 144 sled...then sure. do a 600 with a turbo....hell i would love to play on that for a day or two. Not as my main sled though.

is a 1200 watercraft considered a BB 800? i had one for a few years.....I would put money on my 1200 sled over a turbo 600 anyday....unless running 15lbs but they dont last all day running that kind of power.

what kind of rider are ya?

Ive got a turbo 800 dragon....rode with a few twisted cat 1000's last weekend that made me feel like i was on a t600. I actually thought of this thread that day i was out riding. :face-icon-small-ton

your never gonna be able to out do a 800 on a 600 when running lb for lb. EVER!

Thought I might revive this thread. This does not make any sense IMO. I would not want to swap engines, all I want is to slap a turbo on a proven engine and ride. According to everything I have read and researched the 600 with a turbo will beat any 800 (non turbo, E-tec, Cat 800 HO) out there. Plus I think you have a proven motor with the 600 155" not 144". I am not looking for the most powerful sled setup out there (if I was I would get a Nitro 4 stroke turbo), just trying to get the best all around setup for the $$$$$ You could easily get 185HP out of this setup with minimal boost. And that to me with the Pro chassis would be one of the best sleds for boondocking you could get.

When I get my Pro I know I will eventually do a Turbo. The thing with a 6 though, like stated is the requirements of Race fuel if you want any high HP numbers. I can't afford that after dropping 6k into a 10k sled. I do love the feeling of an 6 over an 8. I have yet to ride the Pro though.... :face-icon-small-fro

I do have to say, being about to ride up to a group, say hold my drink and watch this and then dominating them on a 600. No better feeling.

Time will tell though. I think I would ride stock for a year and then decided .

So True. I enjoyed this the most with my 600 turbo in the raw chassis back in 2007. It was so much fun riding up to a spot with my little 600 and out climbing all the big bore sleds.

I think it would be hard to have the same feeling now a days with so many 800 turbos on the snow. It would be hard to dominate unless most are on stock/mild mod sleds. However, I feel a 600 Pro with a Aerocharger would be a super fun sled.

Stopped in at Performance Motor Sports in Ashton, Idaho last night. They have been out on their MTNTK 600 Aerocharger turbo. 208-652-7738 if you have any questions for them.
