2012 600 shift 121 Black Hills Clutching

Picked up the wife a 2012 600 shift 121. Have a trip to the black hills planned in February. Looking for clutching reccomendations.


Thinking a weight change in the primary would get me 80% there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

5 to 9 set up should do you fine. Most of the riding there is at 6000 ft. No need to re-gear.

Couldnt find a service manual/clutching chart for my 2012 121 shift 600 but found one for a 2010,11,12 600 Rush. Presumably the specs would be the same.

Using the 4000 to 6000 feet chart it details a drop to 10-60s from 10-64s.

Slight gear change is reccomended but I dont think I am going to mess with that as the stock gearing was good clear up to 4000 feet.

Reccomended change from Stock 22/39 to 22/40.

Seem reasonable?
