2011 pro won't idle or go into reverse?

My 2012 did this last night. It'll sit there and idle but I saw it go As low as 950 and high around 1300. Won't engage into reverse

this is the truth

Bad idle and not going into reverse many times indicate pistons or rings going down, if under warrenty, get it to dealer and have them ck piston scuff, etc.
If not under warrenty, dont ride, remove top end and and put in a slp, rk or another drop in kit. Research them.
I have had over 4 800 motors go down directly after the same condition you stated, could be something else but study up and save youself some headaches.

I had the same issue ended in 3 holes in my lower case. I had a friend wiith the same issue this is the best warning u r gonna get that the end is near

Replaced the TPS and that fixed my problem. $170 part though. Ouch.

Are you saying a bad TPS is a sign of a top-end failure? If so, how is that related?

Or are you saying that a sled that won't idle or go into reverse is a sign of a top-end failure?

Agreed on the motor going down. I have an 11 with similar miles on it experienced the same problem and 10 miles later lost the mag side cylinder. Sure am glad it had the 4 yr. warranty, 2 weeks later complete rebuild and riding again. FYI I lost the top ring on the piston due to either the small pin that keeps the ring in place either falling out or breaking off.
