I have the timbersled skid with the Zbroz Exit X0 IFP Shocks. I want to change the front shocks now and wonder if I should go with the Zbroz or with the Fox shocks? I have given thought to the fox brand due to the fact you can run those better with out the sway bar. I think the stock walker evans shocks are way to soft without a swaybar..... I have the springs cranked all the way down. Just want to know what others have tried and how they liked them.

2011 assult rmk. Took my walker evens remotes off and shelfed them. I put front fox float-r, love what they do for me. I like boondocking and jumping [no sway bar] cant say about the the other shocks

Normally I would suggest the zbroz, but after some monumental f-ups and some serious quality/customer service issues I would suggest you look elsewhere.

Floats or carls cycle upgrade of your current shocks

ZBroz shocks

FWIW:

I Put Zbroz on all the way around this year. I can tell you that the ski shocks are very very good. From the way they came I had to increase the comp. dampening a couple clicks that has been it. These clickers actually do something as well. 8 clicks from baseline makes them bomb dropping proof, while a couple out from base makes them soft. First shock I have been around that the clickers have that much affect on. 2 clicks in from the base setting seems to be the sweet spot. Very supple still yet no hard bottoming unless I mistime something badly. The only thing I could possibly look for in the ski shocks would be very, very slightly more progressive and that would be being extremely picky. The rear skid shock is flat out A-****en mazing. Bottoms very, very rarely and only very softly when it does. Absolutely eats everything thrown at it. They got the rts perfect for me, I could not ask for anything more from that shock. The fts is an XO non-compression adj. That is the only shock I am not blown away with (it is also the hardest shock to get setup on any sled IMHO). The fts is good and noticeably better setup than the WE stocker but not as mind blowing as the others. It could use abit more comp. dampening but if you load it up on preload it gets abit springy (with more preload it could use more rebound dampening to compensate), it also loses the suppleness when you ramp up the preload. HEHEHE I know I am asking for the world in this case! In the offseason I will send the shocks back to zbroz for servicing and the only change I will get is the fts to have abit more comp. dampening put into it. ( To show how little the change I am talking about is I would suggest 5-10% stiffer for the second half of the stroke and let the experts run with it).

If that sounds like I am B!tching about the fts I am not, it as a very good shock(in the most abused spot imo). It is just that the other shocks are soooo good.

Also the setup preforms in the snow better than the stock WE's. Gets up on the snow just like the WE's but can take way more of a hit and stay in control, especially the ski shocks. The stockers had to have the preload cranked up to get the bottoming resistance where needed with the offset of being too springy when bouncing through stuff sidehilling, and still bottomed out hard when abused. Ten times, or more, better on the moguled out road, not even a comparison here.

I can honestly say for my riding I have always added power to the sled first. Not any more. From here out it will be susp. first unless the sled is seriously lacking HP.

Are you talking about the a-arm issues? or shock issues? Just asking b/c I want to know if I should be looking for something with my shocks.

Both the X1s and the Raptors with the triple rate springs look good. I did the Holz upgrade on all 4 of my shocks and like it(revalve and added remote resivoirs). I think the triple rate springs on the front would be even better with my setup.

If you want to stick with coils I think Zbroz is a nice option. If you want something with a little more adjust-ability and a slight weight reduction, Fox is the way to go.

I know this has been covered in oh so many topics before, and to be honest I think it always seems to come down to personal preference but I would vote for a set of the Fox Evol-R's up front or if your willing to dish out some $$ the Evol-X's are insane.

I run the Evol-X's without a sway bar like you were mentioning in your OP and it is like a whole other world compared to anything else I've ridden (walkers, zbroz, ryde-fx, etc.). The adjustment factor of Floats are insane and essentially limitless in my opinion. Plus the fact that there is a rebound feature makes it so you can dial the shocks in effortlessly to not get skirted off line thru a choppy side hill or not get bucked off your sled after landing a bomber sized drop.

Then if you go with the X's over the R's you get a high and low speed compression feature which eliminates you having to send the shocks back to the factory to get an adjustment in your valving changed because you don't like the way it feels a certain way thru the stroke.

All in all I would suggest trying to ride several different shocks before you pull the trigger. See if you can jump on each model of each brand. I know that seems like it might take a while, but it will really help out your decision. Good luck! :)

I would say wait till you ride my sled, but seeing as you weigh 1/2 of what i do, i dont think you will appreciate my custom shox... :)

Zbroz Exit shox for me! I also ride with The sway bar quick disconnect from Tedd Unlimited. Takes literally 15 seconds to hook up sway bar or disconnect it. nice to have sway bar for trails and jumping, and nice to unhook it to boondock in the trees.

Also to the chap harping on Zbros customer service, They are standing behind their customers and fixing the A arm problem, not leaving us out to dry. Including replacing for FREE the ones that were bending. Thats pretty awesome in my book.

Are you talking about the a-arm issues? or shock issues? Just asking b/c I want to know if I should be looking for something with my shocks.

I had issues with the a-arms, when I told zbroz about it, they swore up and down that there was nothing wrong with them. I don't take well being called a liar or the insinuation that I'm ignorant so it was rather rewarding when it became abundantly clear that the a-arms were junk.

I also had issues with the shocks, PM me if you want more specifics.

I ended up going with EVOL X's up front and evol/pro-R in the rear.

I couldnt disagree more..... i have owned two other sleds an 06 Polaris 755 RMK 159 and an 2010 Polaris Dragon RMK 163. With both sleds i scrapped the ryde-fx and walker evans shocks front and rear and replaced with Zbroz (Zollinger Brothers) Exit shocks and "A" arms. I recently purchased a new 12' Polaris pro RMK and will purchase and install Zbroz "A" arms and shocks all the way around. I had some valving problems with the front shocks on the 06' and returned them. They did a quick return and i had them back in about a week. The gal at the customer service desk at the time was top notch. Nathan was so helpful and his knowledge impecable. Zbroz shocks IMO are the tops. I believe people purchase things just for the name. I purchase things for thier performance, reliability AND thier customer service.

I have a set of Zboz X1's in front and X1/X0 in the rear. I have been more than impressed with the performance of them so far.

B2 I have to agree on the shocks, to be within 2 clicks on the adjusters is damn good setup. Have you done any setup on your fts? What do you weigh? Riding style? As I mentioned up top that rts is simply mind blowing. Just feels like it never runs out of travel yet is soft... superpumped! hahaha
