2011 Pro Down Hard!! Opinions?

Exploded the crank on my 2011 pro today. Absolutely destroyed the crank and maybe the top end. Just looking for some opinions on what i should do. Aftermarket mod motors? Just replace with stock components? Other options? The sled only had 1200 miles on it

You most likely broke the cases as well. I would pull the motor if it were mine and send it whole to indy dan. Yes, his build is expensive. But he can also save some badly messed up cases and cylinders. So in the end his price comes back in line with going other routes. When its all said and done that way you will have a solid motor thats far more reliable than a new stock motor and a 3 year no questions warranty on it. My 2 cents. You will get many other opions on this. Sorry that the Poo bug bite you. Good luck getting it back on the snow soon!

Without a doubt, IndyDan.

Pull the motor, send to him, get a motor with a three year warranty in return.

Not cheap, but the how much is piece of mind worth?

Indy Dan gets my vote he patched up my 11 that put a hole in the case. Dan also did 4 other engines in our group. They are all running hard.... very hard and winter is going to be good.... :face-icon-small-win

yet another vote for indy dan. Have a 2011 as well. Got the motor back and putting together this weekend! Can't wait!! After talking with Dan I'm confident there will be no issues!! Very satisfied with the service I have received from him!! Something a lot of dealers in my area could take note of!

Does IndyDan have a website? All I can find is his eBay page and it doesn't have details on the long rod setup. What's the cost for that?

Indy specialties is the website but it doesn't have much on it. His eBay site has pricing and some options. An email or phone call will be the best option.

He does not advertise much because his work quality speaks volumes on it's own. He is typically backlogged the entire winter months and stays busy all summer as well. It's a small ( believe I heard 3 full time employees) shop with excellent quality control, thus the 3 or 5 year warrantee. He is extremely knowledgeable on the various Polaris engine's Faults and how to correct them, and has proven that to many of us over the last 20 years, and even if he did not guarantee his work we would go back to him with the engines out of our brand new sleds.

Screw that go bigger than stock if your needing a whole motor

Not picking on you, well maybe a little, but it seems from reading your posts, you don't have very good luck with any engine, or sled for that matter. Is it your ability? knowledge? just bad luck? ride it like you stole it? your thumb writing checks your body and machines can't cash? so maybe your advise is suspect as well?

Just messing with you, ride on Josh!

The 1100 is way out of most peoples ranges including mine. But speaking of him he has long rod cranks, a 910, and many other company's have big bores all claiming to fix the issue. So its really a take your pick type of deal.
Definitely do someone's long rod. And if both cyls are scored definitely punch it out
