2011 mid range burble

Are you guys running your ethanol plug? I only ask because it seems more rich and boggie with it in for me. I put my non-eth plug in and timing and fuel mixture seem to be more spot on. I know some can't run the non-ethanol plug, but I'm just adding my experiences.

I have tried Both!

Yes the 91+ plug did run a little better.. Cleaner at the bottom..

Still same problem. though..

My cousins 800 pro-RMK crapped out on him this weekend worked great the first day and then on Sunday she started bogging same thing as everyone else. The sled is sitting at 500 miles and started bogging and wouldn't pull the hat off your head. Seems the bog starts at about 6000 rpm and just falls off like an ignition problem, but you feather the throttle and it picks up again. I told him this morning to have the dealer check the injectors being that it seem to be the concensus here that that is the problem. I talked to my service guy and he said that 90% of the 800's have the yellow injectors which is a mid injector the others are red and blue which is lean and fat. Don't ask me which one is which. But he said that it probably is a bad bunch of injectors that are out there and the issue should work its way out over the next while. My pro-RMK Assault has not had any issues yet nor my wife's Switchback but we don't have the miles on either so I guess it is now a wait and see what happens. I feel your pain I had a 2010 Assault and it ran like a POS till I put on a PC-5 and that made it into a very reliable sled. I hope that Polaris will address this issue soon. Thanks to everyone that has posted about this issue!

still rich down low I have injectors on order. I will let everyone know how the injectors seem to work. my sled is also randomly cutting out so bypassed throttle safety switch and will see if that helps as well.

how did you bypass the saftey switch?

That troubleshooting board is the best one I have seen yet. Where can you get that board at? Is it a polaris dealer tool? In all seriousness that is what I feel like most of the time you go thru everything I know and it still does it.

Hey I got A 2011 pro rmk and I get this when the air temp gets above 30. I was in the snowies in late Jan and it got real bad. So I stoped and pulled the side pannels off and put 1.5 gallons of cam2 in and put it back together and it ran great. So I don't know if the fuel did it or if there is to much heat under the hood when it gets warm out. But thats the only time I get it and I got 750 miles on mine and love 99% of it. So I think that the heat on the coils and the electronics have A lot to do with it.

I think if you add some more details, peeps could offer more suggestions. Is this low altitude? high? 'tween?
Ever check fuel pressure? Maybe slap a gauge on and drive around. It'll at least be entertaining. what's the fp on the "good" sled in your group?
You said you had it to a dealer - what codes did you have? any TPS or throttle switch related?
What outside temps does the burble happen? after restarts? how long does it last?
what are the snow conditions when the burble happens? hard, deep, blower, flour, cascade concrete?
Is it just a different exhaust sound or does the engine lay down when this happens?
What mods do you have?

You've done all the right things so far - keeping a short log might help prevent doing something over. I worked on FI stuff for a lot of years and unless it was a weird japanese or english or french electronic glitch, a methodical approach usually solved the issue. That, and a thorough grilling of the customer. There is usually a clue or two that a customer reveals that helps in diagnosis. Since you are the tech and the customer, that exchange should be easy. :face-icon-small-hap Lastly, since you have a good sled in your group, you may want to go through a step by step parts swap with that one until you discover what the issue is. You just have to convince your bud to help out for a half a day so don't do it on an epic snow day. YMMV.

Just an idea...but may want to check reeds. Even stockers are having issues. Also, the stock Polaris power valve gaskets suck, they burn at the little hole and little pieces get stuck in cylinder and power valve holes. Carl's Cycle had special gaskets made that fix this.
