2011 m8 running one cylinder sometimes?

I have a 2011 m8 that's been running on one cylinder. Took spark plugs off and they are wet like no spark. I dig into some forum and a guy says to check the reeds. So I did and the clutch side has a chunk a little bigger than a fingernail gone. Would this cause my troubles or should I check into the coils as well?

Thanks, Jason

First ride this year it acted up 2-3 times throughout a 4 hour ride. The power valve cable was sticky so I assumed that was the trouble. Replaced and adjusted the cables and it ran great. Problem solved... I thought. Next ride was about 4 hours and it ran like crap on 1 cylinder for more than half the ride...
Now I'm wondering if I need to tear into the motor and look for the missing reed valve...

Got the new reeds put in today and seems like the problem is solved. I talked to mechanic at shop and he claims it doesn't take much of a chip in the reeds to make it run on one cylinder like it was. Good to know. I was only able to go for a quick run around the yard. Hopefully I can take it for a longer ride tomorrow. I also put a bikeman can on it and seems to be running great. Hopefully I don't piss the neighbors off to much because it's pretty dang loud.
