no crank. That must make the motor extra light. atleast you don't need to worry about taking that out.
 
That top pic is a 6/7. Here is a 2010 800. oh I can not add the picture as I am a lowly basic member. Damn I wanted to add my .02 but it costs .03 perday. If my opinion only was worth more than .02.

this is a great topic to discus since i have heard that its only a 2 injector motor but its only worth a persons 2 cents.......lol

Polaris would be wise to dispel the myth and hearsay and start answering the questions about what they have done to improve the motor. They better have real answers at West. Personnaly I think if they have it figured out they would be crowing a little louder instead they refuse to discuss the motor.
 
Well the first pic is a 800 motor not 600..They should have try putting the injectors in the throddle bodys, Thus you could add some V forces reed that can be lube on that carbon fiber,rather them braking from no lube.

600 and 700 have split cylinder block

800 are monoblock

the first one is monoblock
 
Damn I wanted to add my .02 but it costs .03 perday. If my opinion only was worth more than .02.

that is sig quality..

2 injectors and moving the electronics away form the heat seems like a good move. less complicated fuel mapping and allowing the ecu and reg to be away form the clutch heat

This is the same bottom end, cylinder (diffrent port injection with the 2 injector in cylinder injection) and topend. Don't believe the hipe. I will give it one and two thirds gobs of power. (145hp) Just imagine how expensive it would be if it where DI, Ski Doo's would be cheap considering they are only 500 higher with a EPA compliant motor now!!!!

Actually it is a different fuel system, and cylinder with different porting...also the volt reg, ignition system and some other things..

It has to have different porting due to the injector layout. Thought that could be seen by the naked eye. The last vr didn't work so you would think it wouldbe changed. It has to have different mapping due to 2 injector and the fact that nothing else worked in the past. And I love other things!!!

Have fun it is just my .02 not quite .03. No offense ak, just trying to havefun

yeah figured you were..but I disagree with "they didnt work in the past"..and as alot of my doo riding buddies can tell you...most of these sleds do run very good...I have a contact who does evaluation work for polaris..he has had a production pro sled since late november..so I have been well breifed on what it does and doesnt have..and what it does and doesnt do..he tells me that nothing else will come close...and as for the e-tec..only time will tell but doo has to jump thru the same epa hoops polaris does now(no more credits to use) ..personally I hope all brands of sleds rip and go better and better every year..cause otherwise the tree huggers win..and even the crappiest sled is better then none...

BTW, where's my airline tix? Remember, I only fly first class.

I think Polaris is going to wait it out as long as they can. If they release too much info too soon, then all the current 800 CFI owners having issues will be pissed hearing "We have it all fixed"

umm bam530 is gonna swing by and pick you up when he comes up..and your right..same reason they arnt releasing hp numbers..the 4 yr warranty is a good indicator of how they expect this sled to run...I think polaris should offer an incentive to past IQ owners(900,800)..to trade in their sleds against a new one ...am wanting one..but also thinking I should keep mine 1 more year and throw a turbo on it and then get a 12 and have both...will have to see what shakes out..hard to give mine away for nothing when it runs so good...
