2011/2012 Whistler/Pemberton Conditions

This is a very very sad day to lose Dennis. We will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathy go out to his family that he leaves behind. Dennis, wherever you are "skis up and keep climin buddy." A message to all. The next time you are standing beside a friend, give him a hug while you still can.

Hey guys , me and a buddy are planning a trip to Whistler from revy next week . Ive only been out that way for the big dog shoot out . is there a decent place to stay in town near the village ? Also any one wanting to take us out and show us some good areas ? the tree riding I've seen out there looks phenomenal ! Id be more then willing to return the favor if some one want to come back to revy and ride . thanks !

We were up out of Pemberton this past week. Bad avy conditions. Had one guy in our group get caught and carried into the trees. He got out on his own, but it was a wake up call to all of us.

Very sorry to hear about the ones not so fortunate. The guy who owns the Ski-Doo place in Pemberton asked us to just take a day off due to all the recent bad slides. He told us a film crew and the guys they were filming got caught in one on Friday and were saved by some sledders that saw it happen. Lost all their gear, but came out alive and well.

Have fun but be careful up there folks! It CAN happen to you.

Our group will be pulling in on Friday.
Hope we have timed this big ride well for the local area.

well the rutherford road was a kidney beating ride! a rock has fallen onto the trail so the groomer did not go by it. We pulled up sat morning, paid our trail fee's, were told the road was groomed recently and then rode 20k of whoops! if i didn't have to pay the 20 bucks a head it would have not been so bad!

What he said ^

first time riding this area, the road in was terrible, but wow what an area you have to ride up their!!!
my new favorite place to ride....

Trail was a mess and I think the groomer is done for the year. Can't groom slush. But we put on 100 miles and used all our Fuel and Propane ;) Super sunny, tons o fun, 20cm slabs letting go, and the best buds to travel with :)
We'll do it again

What's frustrating about that "ungroomed" trail was the fact that our entire group of 16 paid either the $20.00 or the $15.00 (BCSF members). I specifically asked the girl at the trailhead if it was groomed and her response was...."yes.....it was freshly groomed last night". Needless to say I was pretty upset when I had to ride that 21 KM if whoops each way!

The government needs to know that they are doing this.....

If anyone else besides our group of 16 paid for that crap and are not happy about it, I would appreciate if you sent an e-mail with your concerns to alistair.mcrone@gov.bc.ca

There were at least 60 trucks in the parking area but apparently they stopped charging at about 9:30 AM

Other than the 42 KM of whoops (both ways) I did 169.3 KM in total and went all the way to Callaghan and back again! Great day on the cap with some good friends!

Yes Randy.....that was a nice slab that came down.....it looked bigger from Helisledders place, hence the reason I rushed over to you guys!

Will be up in the morning where is the parking at the Rutherford? anyone ride sproat? Any updates appreciated..:)
