had a few guys asking if i like the set up on here. i must say it is a perfect set up. super simple install, looks great, tough, holds a perfect amount of fuel, and with 153 or larger tunnel you can add another rack for more storage...
here's some pics for ya on my HCR. it really is worth the $125.00 CDN. all it cost me was the tank for i sold my boss seat for $400 bucks and it paid for the cat seat...saweet! the only thing bad about the whole thing is the fact that it says Ski-Doo on the tank....just joshin ya boys!

as you can see in the pics i left room behind my seat so i can still access the huge compartment. you could butt it up against the seat and still have more room...but you'd lose that awesome compartment area!
have a good one!:D

That setup looks like it works good. Unfortunately it still has straps on the can, which I personally don't like. Another option is this:

I have this same one on my sled. Works really good. Only thing I don't like about it is. If you take it off to make a couple pulls up a hill and come back and want to put the can back on. The snow will compact down in the little holes in the base and you will have to dig it out to get it to hook. But it is very nice otherwise.

As for the skidoo one. If you ride with enough skidoos you can find a can laying in the trail every once in awhile. The ratchet strap system isn't bullet proof. I have picked them up from time to time after letting go. :)

VERY true about the straps. BUT the Doo tank sits lower. i have a buddy that ran the thingy and its saweet no doubt....but it was tall. i kicked it a few times sidehillin. and it was high centered. i like how low the Doo tank is low on the tunnel. weight is better distributed. this is just my opinion. either way you will have a ton of room for both when you run the 2010 seat!
correct me if im wrong too....but i think the Doo tank holds a bit more fuel? im not sure for i dont remember what my buddies sled held.
:D
peace out.

a guy i ride with for-warned about this happening. he has an XP with this tank. although it hasnt happened to him he has heard of it happening. i brought it up when he off loaded his sled and he had duct tape around the strap. im like NIIIIICE...lol. he just takes one loop and loops it around the ratchet part of the strap. for safe measure he said..... the strap looks like it should work so we'll see i guess.... only one little jaunt on her so far and she held up good.

Tanks

In the Cat Acc. catalog they have a ratchet strap similar to the Doo's but will fit any size can. The hooks go into the holes under the bumper. That's what I'm running this year. I like the clean look of the tunnel.

i just put one on my hcr, i think it looks awesome. mine doesnt have those black plastic peices underneath tho. the on i have just has the can with some foam on the bottom and then the two peices that rivet to the side of the tunnel. and i mounted mine as far forward as you can put it. i like it cuz when you take it off there nothing on the tunnel except those 2 small peices on the side. and like you said its not iin your way when your jumping side to side on your sled.

I went with the TrackRack cans from Mountain Addiction. They are awesome. Just another option.

what is the plastic thing under your doo tank tundra? i have doo cans, straps and hardware but i dont know what you have going on under there. did you buy one for the XP chassis and that comes with the kit? i bought 2 for the revs a few years ago and mounted them on the nytros. i kept the cans, so i can mount them on our M's.

any help appreciated. ski

This is what I'm gonna run as I like the clean look of the tunnel as well, are you going to run a pad underneath the can?

this is the tank for the XP. thats what the plastic underneath is from. the XP kit. ya the rev ones dont have the plastic underneath.

those are awesome.
but i know a guy who ran them 2 years ago and broke the tracking from rolling the sled. i seem to roll my sled 2 three times a ride...lol. so i went with a little sturdier (spelling) pkg.

looks good tho!:face-icon-small-hap

yep, ran that all last year and it worked great, I got a 05-08 M series pad for 7 bucks and put under it:D

Hey Fellas............I have a 2010 M8 Snopro 162 coming........and my last sled was an 05 Rev..........I still have the my fuel caddy like the one on this thread and I would like to do the same thing.

Here's my problem.........the local skidoo dealer went belly up and was wondering if any of you have a contact or know of where I could order up the plastic base and new style strap so that I can addapt it easily? I can't seem to find a skidoo parts dealer online that sells just the mount kit without the gas can.

I want to be able to space the can away from the seat as tundrat3 has done so there is access to the storage compartment. Was going to go the Mountain Addiction route......but after reading about them getting tore up from rolling.......figured I better stick with my low profile doo can ;) Thanks for the help in advance..........

knowing guys that have lost the skidoo can on their xp's the mount kit is only like $30 cheaper then buying a new can and mounting kit. You can buy just the mounting kit though.
Also be carefull. I know several that have lost their ski doo can on their xp. Some times you find them, but in the bottomless if they fall off they are gone. A buddy and i looked for almost a hour and couldn't even see where it had hit the snow when it came off. It was on in one area and when we got to another not too far away it was gone. drove back and fourth over our tracks 5 or 6 times and it was gone. Can fell off and hit the powder and was gone forever. It was really deep that day.

here is the set up i went with.
09 m8 sp 153
2010 seat
vortech rack
2 holz 2.5 gal cans ( will hold 4 of them )
skins tunnel bag
didn't like the look after all said and done, felt the rear bumper was too short
and so i swaped it w/ the VE rear bumper.....i like it now:D:D
