2010 Rumors

If they rock stock how come all yours in your sig have turbos. Hands down with a turbo they scream...but normally aspirated is a different story.

I guess it depends on the type of riding you do I guess. Normally aspirated works for my, but I am not into the insane chute climbing or spending the whole day at the "drag hill" trying to whip my buddies. I wouldn't mind having boost but for the cost and the type of riding I do it is just not worth it to me...yet! I don't believe you will ever see a 300 horse turboed hyper sled come out of a factory...at least not Yamaha. Polaris and Cat both have factory turbo's and I would like to see Yamaha follow suite and keep it in the 180-200 hp range and drop about 80-90 pounds.

RX1, I love the clowns with the $30k sleds that just want to drag race, LOL. There are a lot of them out there.

"Turbo envy" maybe? I have ridden with a few of those kind of jokers in the past, not necessarily on turbo's but as soon as they get whipped the excuses start flying and the hood goes up. We actually had to throw a race to one guy just so we could leave....well I could have just left his dumb azz there but a couple of the other guys felt guilty....oh guess they were riding (trailering) with him...he was dating my step daughter at the time....

The Apex actually does pretty well in stock form. You won't be king of the mountain but depending on the conditions you will run right with them. I even had an uphill drag in the pow where I outran a buddies 06' Summit 800, just don't expect it on a daily basis. The stock Nytro doesn't have much track combined with less top-end power so I would expect it to struggle a little more in the steep & deep without a turbo.

Stock Nytro

I really liked the bottom end of my stock Nytro, but yes, the top end, or lack of, was very dissappointing. But, of course I wouldn't have bought it, or kept it for that matter if I was going to leave it in stock form.

Bring on the boost!

Stock vs t

Glad I rode my Nytro stock last year. Really makes me appreciate what I have now. Trouble with boost is that you will never be without it again. It does'nt matter to me if can kick anyone's butt, I just love the power.

doesnt matter what you have, someone will always have a faster one! cool thing with these sleds is that everyone has a fast sled and now the rider and setup seem to show more than ever!
