2010 Rumors

Heard from a dealer that Yamaha has a 160hp Nytro style mountain sled for 2010 that has a worked over apex motor. Said that it has been on the snow testing for three years. Just wondering if anyone has heard of such a thing? Would be really cool if so and the weight was down a little more.

HAHA, let the guessing begin. Only a month and half and everyone will know

i talked to a testrider i bumped into last year in the black hills riding a prototype nytro. he told me it was 155 hp. i seen the sticker on the tunnel that even proved it was a prototype. he wouldn't let me ride it though. let me ride his apex though. wish he wouldnt have cause i bought one shortly after. who knows though he could have been lying, he didnt really want to tell me much about it though.

I personally hope they don't do away with the Apex chassis completely, I prefer the handling of it to the Nytro. A major diet, and a motor with 180-190 hp to put it inline with Cat's factory turbo would be nice.

I heard 10 more HP and 50lb drop for the "Apex" or whatever they are going to call it....

If there is any truth to the rumor lets hope a 162 x16 finds its way under it

I'd like to see a 174x16, 10:1 compression option, 1200 cc triple 4 stroke, Nytro type chassis. Better tunnel design. ;)

Be nice to have a sled a guy could simply boost and add a racers edge kit to and done. AND DECENT DRIVERS !! lol

I'd even test it for them !!

i hope yamaha comes out with the 5'7 110lb double d addition! something with nice line and easy to look at!!! oh wait! wrong forum! me bad.lol

Isnt a current Apex with Cr tunnel, turbo,m-10,boss seat and few other parts the ultimate mountain sled already?

It gets my vote, to bad it costs 30K to build one. At least you can find some smokin deals on used turbos, if you aren't that worried about doing the project yourself.

8000 bucks in swapmeet.

That's a smokin deal. Especially if you don't mind a boondocker turbo kit. Nonetheless, that's a far cry from a set up M10 CR Apex. About $10K worth.

You would see it on the hill as well. Those stock skids are worthless under big boost.

Every day I think how I could have four or five of those good deals instead of one sled for the same price..LOL.

Bingo...I seen my first stock Yamaha in action over the holiday break in Montana....Have ridden with the turbos and ya they rock...but stock....what a JOKE....it was a new nytro....was a hog...hopefully he was just out get some miles on it before he but on his hairdryer.

Break is over.... Time to wake up:p
