2010 nytromtx mcx180 coming soon what can i expect and what can i compare it to???

hey guys just wondering what i can expect or compare to when i get my nytro 180. had a m1000 and buddy rides a big 270 which wont compare i know but give me an idea please lol

At sea level it will beat a m1000 badly and at elevation it really runs well. Clutch it once and you'll never have to touch it again.

The 180 kits because the motor isn't decompressed run really well. Compared to a 270 kit or something like that they are light up top but the bottom end retains all the stock performance till you get into it then they wake up. Compared to an M1000 it'll be quite a bit stronger. It'll pretty much take you any place you might want to go just not as fast as a bigger kit.

I just made the switch to a 180mcx from a well set up M1000 (head, reeds, can, ypipe, programmer etc.) and 2 buddies kept their m1000's who I ride with.
- mcx has more track speed usually pulls 52-56mph, m1000 was 43-48. I have a PC track same as them.
- mcx is ok in trees but you need to carry a bit more momentum ie it will not pop on top quite as easily an m1000.
- mcx steers harder all around but ok.
- mcx has no 2 choke stink and is much quieter, I like.
- mcx has no storage, better make friends with your buddies or buy another seat.
- mcx rides really nice on the trail I like the whole suspension better (mine is 2010).
- Electric start is nice, 1000 pulls over like a kenworth.
- Overall for me anyway I like the switch but if I did it again I might opt for the 240 right out of the box, 180 is not that much better than a well set up cat and weighs quite a bit more than a trimmed down 1000. I figure my 1000 was 500 no fuel.

Jimb thats a really good answer to his question, I wish there were more like that on these forums. Now you've discovered the problem with boost there's never enough. LOL

Just got back from mountains with my MPI 180 kit. I could only build about 4.5 lbs boost because of wrong pulley on charger but it still out climbed a M1000 pretty easily. With a diffferent pulley and 6 to 7 lbs boost it really wouldn't be compareable. It seems lighter in the trees and meadows just because of how much more responsive it is. I also have the 2.5 CE track, which really helps also. Don't know if this helps because its not the MCX kit but should be compareable.

just a big thanks guys it looks like i wont be disapointed. i did think of going bigger but its a whole new ride for me so thought id start small. i may regret that but can easily be fixed now that i made the switch. thanks again for the confidence boost and info and ill see you out there. finally spoolin lol

IMO if you stick with the lame stock track you won't be close to a M1000. Ditch it and get the new CE and you should be right there with them. I went from stock to the new CE this year and can not believe the difference

couple years ago when the phazer with turbo was out, it was laying a smack down on a m1000 where we were riding. was an awesome sight.

new style 162" CE track and stock rear suspension. I do have the SE which is the air shocks. Everything is stock except track, Supercharger, and I let Tom Hartman do the clutching. Worked awesome.
