2010 M8 SP 8600 out the door - 200 miles - Good Deal?

I have the opportunity to pick up a 2010 M8 SP 153 for 8600 out the door, tax, prep everything. 200 miles on sled. Only problem, no warranty. Is this a good price considering the lack of warranty? I guess I would have a green light to modify the thing without worrying about loosing the warranty. What do you think?

You're paying 2 grand less than I did (except I got a 162) but no warranty, that would be a tough choice for me. I'd probably do it and hope that you'll be doing less than 2 grand in warranty repairs in the next year, I'd say that's a safe bet.

Why is there no warranty? I would think for a couple hundred dollars you could purchase the extended warranty. In October 08 I bought an 07 M8 that was a demo and I still got a year of warranty and I purchased the extended warranty for the following year. I would like to find another 2010 M8 for a price like that!

Here in Canada I would have to pay $12,000 plus for the same sled. Exchange is .97 and freight can't be $3000:face-icon-small-fro. I'm looking for a 2010 myself. It's very frustrating. :face-icon-small-sad

2010 M8 sp 9800.00 56 miles

I have one with 56 miles on it 2 year warranty and complete slp kit comes with it and PC 5. its a 162

I would guess that the sled is coming out of Cat Special Services and doesn't carry a warranty.

Lots of 2010 M8 153 std out there at just over $11,000. Add the adj. strg post for $200 installed, forget the gauge, it's not that big of a deal and neither are the Fox floats that come on the SP. Low elevation kit for $200 and you should be around $12 250 with taxes in AB. and 2yrs warranty with no questions asked. $.97 exchange equals about $.92 in your pocket cause the bank takes a commission. Warranty in Canada with a US sled is a crap-shoot at best and you gotta get the sled up here($250 at the border) plus inspection at Canadian Tire +fuel and hotels for the trip. It all seems to add up to buying at home.

ding, ding, ding.... we have a winner. no warrantee with special service units. could be demos, could be engineering units, could be returned, or repo'd units from dealers. anything can happen and could have been done to these units before you get them. cat will not add or honor any warrantee or repair any claims on them.

CSS units that have miles on them have no warranty....period. Units comming fron CSS with zero miles on them have 90 day warranty and you must sign an acknowledgement form stating you are aware of the 90 day warranty prior to recieving the unit.

yes that is a good price for that sled

i just bought a 09 m1000 SP 162 with 400 miles for $8500

I just think, what are the odds that the sled would have something go wrong that costs you over 2k?

Our HCR came from the race dept, so it had no warranty, I just figure that as long as a crank doesn't go out on it, (and take out the cases) I'm still ahead.

For what I got this sled for with the miles, nothing could have come close, and with a turbo on it, it wouldn't have a warranty anyhow.

I bought a 2009 M8 sno pro 153 demo 500 miles and full waranty for $8600.00 and recieved the 1 year warranty. make the dealer give you the warranty and its a good deal

I'm with the others...

You need to tell us WHY it has no warnt.
Also, if he won't TELL YOU WHY....then no deal bro. Srsly!!:face-icon-small-fro

After 18 replys to "TheBreeze" questions he has not even replyed to comments made to his questions, so he must not be too concerned.
Numerous people have asked why " Why No Warranty" to him. May be a
BS post.
