2010 Ford F150 or 2010 GMC 1500

I have a 06 GMC 1500 crew and a '10 Ford F150 crew max tow.Both stock

Gmc feels like a car, Ford feels like a truck
The 6.5 bed on the Ford was the big selling feature.

I towed my jeep on a trailer from Salt Lake to Island Park and averaged 13 MPG ( hand calculated ).

The Ford is sweet

I worked for the Forest Service for 12 years until last year, I know say what you want about the FS... But we drove all dodge, ford, and Chevy. These were the lower end of all of them, but the fords and dodges were bad trucks. There body's feel apart and we had constant trouble with motors and trans. Chevy lasted....
Chevy's are better vehicles they handle better and they take the abuse better. There is nothing from my experiences with all of them that says anything different.
CHEVY BUILDS THE BEST TRUCKS AND THE BEST TRUCK MOTORS....

Too bad the 5.4 is a huge turd.

A customer of mine has had all 3 within the past 3 years. 06 5.4 supercrew
4x4, 08 1500 quad cab hemi 4wd, and just rcently purchased a 10 chev 1500 reg cab 5.3 4wd. All three were chipped, all three hard on fuel, Ford was the best for towing followed by the chev, and hated the dodge loaded, fun when empty but thats it.

Chevys are a truck body on a car frame. Wow they ride great. Whoopty doo! The 5.4 may not be cranking out tons of HP but its solid and will last a long time. My old mans 99 F-150 is almost to 300k with an O2 sensor and brakes being the only things replaced. Oh ya, the window motors are starting to die as well.

I've had my 98 F-150 with the 5.4 for 7 years now and got it with 60K and it now has 130K on it. Have had to replace nothing out of the ordinary and keep up with the regular maintance. It might not be the snappiest truck when compared to chevy's but it wasn't designed to be. Its a truck and it'll be the hardest working and toughest gas truck out there in my opinion. I've got it chipped, true duel exhaust with high flow cats and a K&N Cold air intake with 33inch tires and i'm getting roughly 13 miles to a gallon around town (but remember its a 98 and I have a heavy right foot). If I was to ever get another gas truck it would without a doubt be an f-150, however i'm going to be switching to diesel and getting a cummins...Not happy about having a dodge truck, just want the motor.

We can all tell story's about **** trucks we have had. Mine 91 ford f-150 with 115,000 miles had the front end rebuilt three times two new clutches, the doors did not shut, and much more. It was a "huge turd" HA.
I had a 97 Chevy half ton with 230,000 when I lost a cylinder, I did replace breaks twice and a trany at 160,000 miles. When I sold it, it still was twice the truck that ford was. They guy that bought it is still driving it three years later on the original motor, he changes a spark plug every 500 miles and said it still goes fine.

Thanks for all the posts guys!
I decided to go with the Ford...picking it up on Friday!
Theres only one problem...the wife says she only gets to drive it!:face-icon-small-sho

Best trick is to go with the longest pickup you can so she can't get it in the parking spots at the stores works well for me. Wife loves my F350 crewcab SB if she's driving down the highway but she hates parking it in town. You won't be disappointed and post some pics when you get it.

support the free market not corporate welfare.especially one that comes on tv and bold face lies about paying back gov loans.yeah you payed back a small portion of the loan with bail out money OK what ever.I will never ever buy a chev or dodge again in my life

could not of said it better, no goverment owned anything for me!:face-icon-small-dis

So what model did you go with? how do you like it so far? they are nice trucks, i love my 08.

2010 F150 Lariat, 5.5 box, black exterior, black leather....I haven't put a lot of miles on yet both so far I really like. The ride is great and its very quite on the highway. The sync system is also a pretty cool feature. I think I'm going to like this pickup!

Ford vs GMC

Ford has the new generation engines, and the body construction is the new generation of construction which makes it conducive to quietness. Strength of the cab is the best in the business and it is dipped to reduce any corrosive problems. The cab design and interior packages are the best in the business.
Ford makes the best truck and is still the #1 seller of trucks.

new or old

new things are nice but... well i be been looking into new trucks and none seem to do what i want. pretty sure im going to go with an old ford desil 7.3 because of the reputation then deck it out so its somewhat cool. would be nice to have a new one but only like 16mpg towing sounds pretty crappy when one can get one of these old trucks in the 20 range towing. means alot when your living paycheck to paycheck extra 100 in fuel savings that is

7.3L is an old slug....if you're gonna get 20mpg towing something you'll be the first. And it's still an old truck, so it's going to have old truck type problems. There's nothing wrong with that, and if you're buying it to save money that's great, but it won't do anything a newer won't....don't kid yourself.

If Chevy/GMC were combined under the GM badge then Ford would be the #2 seller of trucks.

Ford vs. GM

I have to say gmc and chevy combined currently is still behind the ford and if you want a truck that is owned by OBAMA you can Have It!
Ford has been the best selling truck ford 33 Straight Years Not GM!
