2010 ASSAULT BLOWN

Went riding on sunday and my sled would only tack at 7500. Did a compression test when i got home and sure enough about 70 on each side. I ran my assault with a pc5 and the slp 70-216 map.I had the 1/14 polaris map.Talked with jim from dynotech 2 weeks earlier and he said to get the original map.Talked to poo and they said they couldnt do it.WTF....KABOOM...:face-icon-small-sad:face-icon-small-fro

Sounds like it LMFAO. I know that my local poo dealer (carls) has reflashed a few sleds and had no problems on them. But i'm not entirely sure that the people who've flashed theirs had your same setup...i wonder if it is like trying to stack chips on a gas engine...i did that to my 06 chev 6.0 and it fried the ECM (thought i could by seing that my friends with DIESELS could). that would be interesting to look into.

That's always going to be an issue with a fuel controller. Each time the factory changes a fuel map you may need to change the inputs in the controller. And if you jet to the ragged edge with one then the first time you get some bad fuel you are at risk-you removed the "cushion". And since Ethanol fuel is blended there's no guarantee that it's always 10% Alcohol.

Just a thought, the detonation sensor should have warned you if you were too lean, maybe an oil issue. What color were plugs? did you check for piston scuff through exhaust, if your compression test was the same on both sides possibly your gauge is out and you have a exhaust valve and/or selenoid problem. Hope this helps.

has anyone that has lost a 2010 been a lean burn down I have a friend with a 2010 and his locked up the pto side he had SLP PCV and SLP single not a lean burn down but was missing some antifreeze! so that might be the problem?

any dealer has the ability to reflash polaris ecu's it takes less than 15 minutes and is really easy. sounds like you have a terrible dealer

Yesterday I was told by a dealer that once Polaris comes out with an updated map, the old maps are locked and cannot be downloaded anymore. So the dealer is not able to "flash back" to a previous map. BUT MY dealer said that he reflashed my sled back to what it was before. So one of these dealers is confused or lying. Anyone know if you CAN flash back to previous maps?

I believe Jkinzer works at a Polaris dealer, and knows his stuff! Yes they can reflash back, its a matter of your dealer wanting to or not!!! Lots of turbo guys are running older maps after there sleds were updated.

everything gets substituted to the new reflash part #, as far as im aware if you try to reflash old part # it wont allow it to go thru & it will automatically put the new updated reflash in ecu depending on injector colors. digital wrench still shows old #'s but all substituted to the new flash.

Just got done talking to my dealer and he said that whenever you reflash it creats a new number, like a job number. But as far as putting, for example, the original 2010 flash into a motor with the updates that had the 1/14 flash, it can be done. Polaris only locked out the original 2009 map, so if you get the engine recall work done, the original 2009 map is locked for you. but if you had the 1/14 flash and want to go back to the original 2010 flash, you can no problem and it doesnt void your 2nd year engine warranty.

dant dant dant another one bites the dust, da dant dant dant antother one bites the dust and a nother one gone and a nother one gone a nother one bites the dust, hey poo it looks like you don't know what to DO, da dant dant dant another one bites the dust. New advertising song for the Lovely Polaris LOL.

Now thats funny

Hey sledsnowco did you check the thumb warmer switch. If it gets stuck halfway between WOT and blown up you may have a problem.
