2010 800s TRUE HP !!!!!!!

Thread Rating
5.00 star(s)
Honestly why does it matter?? Polaris puts the power to the track as well as any manufacturer.. An 800 is an 800 is an 800 in stock form.. Pick what brand you like and ride it like you stole it.. On any given day any brand can beat the other. The pilot has more to do with the power than any other factor. If a guy can really ride; than on a stock machine of the same cc's his machine is gonna out perform someone who cant ride..

IT matters because there are people that do care and that are interested!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody know or heard of any other hp numbers for the 800 s????

Read a post from you claiming you broke your updated 09 in on the dyno "157 hp on 8th pull" that was a few days ago now you are asking for hp numbers? There is a D8 going on DynoTechs dyno on monday they are doing a stock base line then seeing how much they can get with a bunch of goodies.

Yes correct

My Question was has anybody heard of any other hp numbers ?????????? and yes we were able to get 157 hp on the dyno !! The same shop also got lower numbers on 2 other 800s at 152hp !!!!!! I look forward to hearing from other sources , to see how close they are to ours !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tis true. I was talkin to Jim today and he said they will be configuring the new PC III and PC V maps for the updated 800. Should know soon if we see any significant gains with a fuel controller with this new head and mapping.

Holy crap, some really good stuff here. I have been away for a bit but didn't think we would finally here some honest to goodness thinking. Way to go!

DYNOTECH ran a 2009 with updates yesterday, here's Stoutner's comments:

A few answers...

Once we installed the updates the sled made about 10Hp more than the un-updated motor.
The motor just plain ran a lot better once the updates were installed
Fuel controller was still a good boost on HP
Modified cylinder head was still a good boost on HP
Some pipes made some good HP
I'll be running my updated sled, modified cylinder head, and PCIII and will be pulling at least 160HP.
Intake air temps never got below 50 degress and I think the motor will like 15 degree temps a lot more than 50 degree temps...but that is just my opinion.

We tested the Power Commander V and it really was sweet. You basically hook it up, set your desired a/f ratios, run the sled, it adjusts fuel and trims fuel to your desired ratios. It only took about 3 dyno pulls for the PC V to trim the fuel to being just about perfect. That looks to be a great tool if you decide to start with it, add pipes, cans, porting, etc. You'll basically be able to automatically re-tune your fuel without having to go to the dyno.

All in all, it looks like Polaris really got it right with this update. Time will tell but it looks really promising so far.

Looks like some positive results so far with the new setup. Hopefully it holds true on the snow. Polaris will have some very happy 800 owners. ;)

that sounds real good and hopefully it turns out to be correct...now i just have to wait for the dealer to call to say their ready to do the updates now

When DTR first started their comparison they dynoed a box stock D-8 with only 1000 miles on it, made only 130 h.p. Dissasembled it and it had an unbelievable .016" (NOT a typo) piston to wall clearance!

After that they installed (1) update part @ a time, New E.C.U. reflash, then D-7 silencer, then lighter exhaust valve springs, then honed the stock cylinders and replaced pistons with the new 2 ringers (.010" LARGER than old single ring pistons) , then POLARIS head (approx 1 point lower than '09 head) and then Sean Ray modded head, Dynoport, SLP, BMP single pipes, PC III, with dyno runs at EACH interval.

yo sledman I guess i wouldn't be waiting I'd be at his door, we're only 5 away from being done.
My next question is wonder what we'll will be all over Poo about when indeed this thing really rips and lasts for seasons, I bet there's something, not saying they didn't have it coming thou they did Let er snow , let er rip , lets all have many a powder filled trip
