2010/2011 Clutch Spider Breakage Poll

Have you broken a spider in a 2010/2011 M sled?

Just broke spider yesterday on '10 backup sled my kids use at 1800 miles. Spiders shouldn't break period...isn't a wear part just bogus manufacturing. Fortunately I was riding it rather than my son on some nasty climb. Either cat fixes their clutch BS or I'm riding another brand (my '14 m8000 still has issues). This same sled lost a diamond drive with 1200 miles. Great engines...crap drive system.

I have a 2011 HCR with about 400 miles on it. I just did the DD update after replacing the secondary and inner DD case thanks to a nasty rock I found! I'm going to have to keep my eye on the primary as well now. Does it ever end?

Add another one to the list. My 2010 M8 gernaded with 1600miles. The scrapnal took out the bellpan, clutch cover, and side panel but luckily never bent the crank. This really would have changed my discision on getting my new sled as i picked up a holdover 14 M8000, if this would have happened a week earlier would have definatley not got another Cat. Quality control is unbelievabley bad on these sleds.

It's also a largely preventable problem.

Could have had a 2010 XP that blows a jackshaft bearing and splits the shaft as well as sending your clutches into each other.

Could have had a 2010 Dragon that well..........yeah.........

The 57% failure rate in this poll is pretty pathetic for sure. Glad the clutch is the only thing that went but finding info on the two weaknesses of these sleds is pretty easy to come by. As are the fixes.

I'd still be buying a newer M800o over a bendy wendy pro, or an xm that still handles like a skidoo and has a motor that's a lot more finicky.
