Ok guys and gals, my buddy has a 2009 rmk 800 with 1361 miles, sled is immaculate condition...but roasted the top end, and new sled isn't in the cards. So we gonna rebuild the sled. So, when it was (still runs until warm) was running very lean and comp was 90 and 100 at dealer before he left. But I volunteered to help rebuild the sled. Side project and learning at same time. What would cause to have been so lean. Have yet to tear into the sled but gonna start with in a few days. Whats the best option for us. hoping the case is still good! is there a certain kit we should buy? Looking for parts/help on this as I know ppl have done this time and time again. we gonna give it a little extra hp if its reasonable price also. Thanks guys/gals

If the bottom end is good, put a "fix kit" on it and it should be good. Carefully inspect the bottom of the cylinders because that's where they break and destroy the case. Have cylinders replated to stock clearance.

Indy Specialty

I would definitely look into Indy Specialty's top end kit if thats all you need. Dan reinforces the skirts and guarantees them for three years. That is worth the money to me, and it's not a whole lot more than the other kits. I have his long rod motor in my 09 D800 and it rips!! He sells his stuff off ebay, and has a stellar reputation on here. I had him balance my clutch too. I also run a PCV with Dynotech's map.
