2009 600 RMK leaking oiler

Well guys last season before storage i noticed fresh oil under my belly pan and some pooling at the back of the bay near the oiler. This week i pulled my engine and sprayed everything down with brake clean to let it sit over night. I have now noticed the leak is coming from the right side of the oiler where the screwdriver is pointing.

My real question is, can i remove this plate and reseal it? I was also thinking about getting longer screws so i can put a nut on the end in order to torque them down better because the aluminum will only allow me to get them so tight. After identifying where the leak was coming from today I tighten the two Philips screws a little to see if the leak will have sealed when i check it tomorrow.

Opinions? Thoughts? Any one ever deal with this?
thanks for looking guys

To the top! anyone?
hopefully it is possible to remove the plate and reseal the oiler casing with some oil resistant sealant. I just want to ensure that it is alright to disassemble the plate and that nothing internally is going to pop out once removed.

If there was a seal kit for the pump I would service it, I don't see any parts for rebuilding the pump.. iMO just replace the pump, babbits has it for 145.00

Thanks for the reply

unfortunately they don't make parts for servicing the pump. I'm located in Canada so its usually 2-4 weeks to get parts from the US and I get nailed with customs fees. Dealer wants $230 CDN for the pump and can have it for me in 3 days so I will just order it locally.

As you can see I have disassembled the end plate of the pump exposing the gasket causing the leak. It's clear the gasket is no where near wide enough in diameter to seal tightly against the removable plate.

I plan to replace all of the lines and the pump once it arrives.

I'm replacing mine because at the proper setting i'm burning 2 tanks of oil to 1 tank of fuel "last ride out west". Believe it or not I did not foul a plug, but oil is still leaking out of my pipe and muffler. I did check the cable.. Works fine, but the arm sticks on the pump

A friend had the same issue. Tried to adjust with no luck and had to replace it. New oiler came in today so I will be swapping it out tonight

Swapped the new oiler in last night as well as replaced all lines. I Added more loom to where the original lines had rub marks. You will notice the right clamp is not installed in the picture but was before engine installation.

Sask, did you set pump @ factory spec or a little tighter? Doing mine this weekend, tried to do it without pulling motor, now pulling motor lol, just waiting for motivation to kick in... Beer!

Hey I acually set it a little looser than the factory marks buts its oiling a little too heavily. I'm Using a little less than a 1/3 a tank of oil per tank of fuel and im going to adjust it a few ticks less past the factory marks so im using closer to 1/4 tank of oil per tank of fuel. My sled is running just fine as is! GOOD LUCK!
