Vertical-Extreme,
How do you do that? Just unplug the switch or do you have to do any rewiring? Thank you for the help!:D

no rewireing needed. you just split the throttle block and disconect the wire from the connector. it should be easy to tell which wire the tors is, it is a little switch your throttle flipper presses in. I left everything in and just disconnected it . if you do this though I would recomend getting a teather as well. you can get one that is plug and play right from cat for about 30 bucks.

2 options

I've installed both Sidehiller 2 & Goldfinger on my 2 m series cats.

Both work fine without any mods to the stock throttle or wiring. Just followed the instructions. Pretty easy.

Advantage of goldfinger: more hand/finger clearance around the grip
Advantage of the Sidehiller 2: better throttle pull...or more accurately, you can get full throttle - which I could not achieve with the goldfinger because of the leverage ratio of the levers.

I'm putting a left-hand throttle on my 08 M8 this week also, so what is the reason I would have to disconnect the T.O.R.S switch? I have a goldfinger on my Dragon, but I had the shop install it when I bought the sled. It looks like a pretty straight forward install.

I have a brand new goldfinger (still in the plastic) that I picked up at the Washington Snow Show last year. I decided I didn't want it before I ever even put it on. I bought it for $90 and will sell it for $50 if somebody wants it. PM me if interested.

I just installed my goldfinger, didn't touch the tors, and never had any problem. I agree, follow the instructions, and you won't have any problem. Just be sure that the throttle floats and pushes in on the tors switch when you pull the throttle. It's way too important of a safety feature to just disconnect.

Don't remove safety features to install, not required by any means if installed correctly. I installed a Lefty's sidehiller and love the same plastic paddle and full WOT with good control through the operation range. It's not just closed or wide open, there is plenty of control like other brands. They are great to deal with, good clean install with great instructions. I've had mine for a couple years now and it's holding up great, works awesome. People who say you never need one on a M-Series just haven't used them enough to see the benefit, even if it's just putting down the trail using your opposite hand to fix your glove or leaning on a crazy sidehill... Can't tell you how many times I was happy to have mine there!

Have a Goldfinger on mine, no rewiring needed if installed correctly.

Honestly, I don't use mine much, if at all. Don't think I've even pulled the safety pin on it since mid last year. IMO the M sleds don't need one.

Have the Goldfinger, didin't do any rewiring. Am going to try a different lever (probably a Dirt harry) so I can use more than one finger and have a little better control of the pull.
