I hope you guys can take a few minutes to help me out with some info.
I'm thinking of building a fun little 600 mid-length spring-boondocking/hucker sled...136" to 141"... I have a long track sled for other days.
Looking at the 2008/9 IQR 600 and wanted to find out what would need to be done to the engine to make it a mountain compatible engine.
I already have the chassis components lined up & on hand (front suspension, skis, shocks, tunnel, cooler, skid, track, driveshaft, seat cover, tank, handlebars/riser etc...)
I understand that the cluching needs to be done.
What is the differnce between a 2008 and a 2009 IQR... looks like the front suspension went to Holz in 2009... anything else.
I want to keep the bore STOCK on this (no big bore or bolt on 800CFi cyls)
Has anyone used any of the Altitude compensation systems on this motor in a high altitude situation (6-10,000 ft)
Pre-mix is OK for me.
Up to 30% Race mix is ok for me but I dont want to run full race gas unless it will make a big difference in how she runs.
What is the compression ratio in the 600 race?
Can I run the stock IQR pipe or is the powerband on that one not that great for mtn use?
Does anyone make a lightweight can for the 2008/09 IQ Racer that is NOT a stinger and uses the stock IQR pipe?
I'm looking for a something that is not so loud.
SLP says that their pipe would need to be modified to fit the 600 Race chassis... what would need to be done?
