2008 600 RMK (Carb) Display Issue

My wifes sled has started acting up. The display will flash on and off when you first start it, then stay off. I have checked the Wireing harness for broken wires and all is good.

I have also checked the Ground at the dash plug with an ohm meter. Checked Voltage on the power pin and it is showing 12v.

The reverse\brake\hi-low lights all work just fine. Its just the LCD display that is not lighting up.

My thoughts are the dash cluster is bad then. Am i wrong?
Thanks!

The guage is most likely not the issue. The carb 600 sleds have a failure prone Voltage Regulator/Converter. I have had 2 of them fail on me and they did exactly what you describe. The updated converter is part # 2203794, its kind of a pain to change as its located under the oil tank but its doable without a ton of dissasembly.

The 08 is a little different, the regulator/ac/dc converters its in the nose of the bellypan. I tried a new on as well as a different display. Still no joy. I checked the hood wire harness for continuity on all the wires. I did find a short, in the speedo sensor behind the air box. Fixed it and still nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I am experiencing the exact same symptoms on my wife's 06 600. Have you figured this out yet? Was it a bad guage unit?

Thanks, Ryan
