2007 vs 2008 M8 or M1000

My buddy is looking to pick up a new carryover M1000. He might settle on a M8, depending upon the price.

My question is, we found a new 2007 M1000 Sno Pro and there are a couple 2008 M1000's around here yet that are new (in MN). What are the largest differences between the two, the 2007 and 2008?

What's the best prices you guys have seen on the carryover sleds and where are they at??

2007-2008 you gain the new float rear suspension, better snow elimination on the running boards, better clutching, new style gauges (imo worse if not snopro), a few less pounds, and the obvious difference between the snopro and non 07-08 is the fox float front shox and the gauges. Thats off the top of my head, hope it helps!

I'd say the 2 biggest differences are the Float rear skid, supposed to be 8lbs lighter and the running boards. 08 boards are better snow elimination and much stiffer than the 05-07 boards.
Clutching, usually get's changed anyway.
Thought the DD reverse got a few internal improvements for 08 as well, but ICBW.

Engine mapping changed on the 08 M8 and was much better than the 07.

08 is an improved version of the 07, and 09 improved of the 08. For the money the 09 Sno pro m8 is gonna set you back about the same as the 08 M1000 sno pro. Just an FYI.

the 08s are nice though - i sure like mine. i found mine to be faster than the 07 M1000 i ride with too. Maybe mines just a fast one though?

it looks like it'll be either the 08 M1000 Sno Pro or the 09 M8 SP. How are those Float shocks holding up for you big guys?? No, you BIG guys??

i don't know if you'd consider me big, but i bet i weigh 225lbs with my gear on. the floats are holding up great so far. My research last year found that they hold up better than the conventionals as well.
