My brothers 600 switchback siezed up solid the other day on a ride. It has 3200 miles on it and from day one has been warmed up properly and run shell advance oil and is all stock. Pulled the plugs and the burn was perfect. Got the engine pulled apart last night and the mag side lower rod bearing took the bearing and a thrust washer out, and was loose on the crank pin. Somehow the cylinders and pistons were untouched and look like new. The sled has had a new fuel filter every year and always premium gas. I have been around polaris for along time and my expereince with the small blocks is that they are an excellent engine. Have any of you guys heard of a failure like this on the 600's or is this an fluke thing. Also the rod is not even rainbowed, it seems like it took out the bearing and locked up, but did not even touch the cases! I am just wondering if there is something in particular I should be looking for. Any input would be appreciated, Thanks, Adam
