2007 Salvaged Title Summit Project Build

Hi all I recently picked up a salvaged title 07 summit. It is a little rugged but the previous owner had pieced it back together to make it ride able again. He used it for a few seasons and said he replaced the motor last year. I am new to sledding and this is my first sled so I don't know $hit about these machines and am coming from the ATV world. I have a decent amount of wrenching experience on my CanAms so I am pretty confident that I can do everything on this myself. I have alot of pictures I will be posting up as soon as I get them on my laptop from my phone.

I have already spent 4-500 on replacement body panels as well as a complete wire harness a headlight and a new handle bar switch. I'm sure there is more stuff that I am not thinking of right now. It seems to run strong starts up between 3-6 pulls every time. I am not sure if it is an X or not how can I figure that out? What types of things/mods should I do to this sled? I want the most reliable sled possible, I also want power but reliability is more important.

Thanks in advance for the advice! And stay tuned for pics!!

Here are a few pictures to show you guys what I have and some of the issues it has.
The sled without the broken hood on.

I have oil leak from somewhere. To me it looks like the CC is leaking because it is right underneath of it and my oil res is still half full.

Some messed up wiring. Can anyone tell me what these plugs are for?

Some of the wiring mess from the previous owner and a broken handlebar switch.

The skis that are on it. What skis are they? The left one seems to have some play in it back and forth?!?! Also not sure if you can see in the picture but the shock is not quite centered between the a arms. It is slightly towards the rear of the sled by about a 1/2 inch?!?! I am missing the carbide on this ski. What carbides should I get?

Broken Headlight. Ordered one should be here soon.

WTF is up with the wiring? That is not an X model. You can tell by a few things. I noticed by the front shock. X models are a threaded adjustment. Most likely the oil is from the chain case.
I believe that that is a stock ski. If it has play it is most likely that bushing in the center. And being a totaled sled thats probably why the shock doesnt match the other side. I would bet you have a bent nun. Not a big deal ive rode years on a bent one. Also you have an aftermarket pipe it looks like. Is there a name stamped on it somewhere?

What about the pipe? Does it have a stamp? Either its aftermarket or someone took the heat shield off and painted a stock one black. The nun is pretty much what holds the front end together. If its bent super bad its worth replacing but if the snowmobile drives straight and feels ok Id just leave it alone. The CC has an oring around it. Mine leaks out the dipstick tube when I flip over. Its worth on yours taking the cover off and just checking things out and changing the oil.

I will check the pipe tomorrow. is a full exhaust something I would need to rejet for? Are there some things that I should do as preventive mods/maintenance? How can I make sure it has the 800r?

Sled looks like an 07 adr to me? A full exhaust from what I hear never really worked that well on the 07's. Claim stock worked better. So up to you if you want to change that out. You would hope previous owner tuned to that pipe. Just ride it and see how it acts. If the cylinders are separate you have and HO if they are together its and R. Just run good fuel, good oil and keep the clutches working and that sled will go for miles and miles.
