2007 M8 D&D Pipe / Can ???'s

This subject has probably been beat to death, but one more time. Anyone run a D&D monster ceramic single?? Pro's/Cons??

I'm thinking about one on a 2007 M8 Sno Pro. The other question I have is that I have a MBRP can on the sled now. Will a D&D pipe "talk" to a MBRP can??

Thanks--:beer;

D&D pipe

Hey Ak I have a funny story about the D&D monster single. I have a 07 M8 and in the winter of 06/07 I was told by Kelsey (RKT) that that pipe was the ticket. I still have the emails that shows that. Then in the winter of 07/08 he said "that pipe will not work with that motor". My first trip out west I had the D&D single on and also RKT's clutch kit and was running both for the first time. It did not run good that 1 trip BUT I had some clutching issues. I took the pipe off because I wanted to make sure I got the clutching dialed in and not worry about the pipe. I did get the clutch working and would like to try the pipe again but i'm not running a fuel controller or EGTs and have the 14.1 RKT head, bikeman can and I did the BD extreme air box mod and am scared to try the pipe. I don't want to burn it down. I was told by a guy in AK that he knows alot of people running it and seems to work good. I might be willing to sell mine if I do not purchase EGTs and some sort of fuel controller. Mine was ceramic coated by LO-KO Coatings out of Oak Lawn IL. It looks very good. My buddies thought I polished it more cuz it really shines.

D&D Monster single

I can tell you that D&D's monster pipe did NOT work on my RK Tek M7-8 big bore. The outlet diameter on that pipe is HUGE! I think it flows way too much, engine pulls good through the low and mid range but bogs when you get to the top end. I reduced the outlet dia. to see if that would help, and it did some but the bog was still there. I ditched it and went back to the stock single. Maybe D&D's other pipe, the Light pipe would be better....? I also tried the speedwerx single and it ran ok but not much different than stock, maybe a little tighter. Maybe that is why it works so well for guys riding at altitude. Remember, this is on the 700 based mill and not the 800 though.

I think I am going to try the Bikeman single next, it sucks being the test dummy for a set-up that very few people have in Alaska.

what combo stands out!!??

This is a very good Question. I wouldn't feel worry about getting bashed. I have the same questions, as everyone else does. I would like to know what people have for the combos. Speedwerx, SLP, D&D, Bikeman and etc. Is there alot of difference in these pipes and power bands they produce??
I guess my question is, i have a y-pipe and can from Speedwerx and was really looking into getting a pipe but not yet have found any solid info on whats been standing out as number 1.
Also will you lose power if you mix and match single pipes and y-pipes??

Slp pipe, y pipe and can, RKT head, RKT clutch, timbersled intake and boondocker NOS w/ fuel controller. Its working for me...I would think it would work for almost anyone else but i guess you just have to figure out what you want.

RKT 14-5:1 head, RKT porting, RKT clutch, SLP pipe combo, BD box.
Works very well.
I've got emails as well claiming the DD pipe/port combo is the way to go. Then the next week it was something else, then the next month something else.
Throw the DD pipe on it and take it for a rip through the mountains. I'm running my fuel up to 12 in the hi rpm's at 10k elev so I wouldn't do it without a bd box, however I couldn't get the other stuff to run right without adding fuel so you should have it anyway.
