2006 summit 800 no spark.

I have A 2006 summit X 800HO with no spark at the plugs.It started as an intermittent problem last year, It would start and run to move off the trailer and warm up but would not restart. after it cooled it would start. Is there a way to test the stator?

I tested mine with the directions in the shop manual , I think I got it here

I had two with similar symptoms, one was a pin in the connection to the ecm and the other was a faulty DESS key.
