Thinking about putting a 174" track on my 05 1000 162. Just wondering why people thought about the mod, Worth it? will the sled be under powered for that big of a track (stock engine)? will I need to re gear it?

That sled will turn a 174 with a 3" no problem! You might have to play with gearing and clutching a bit but once it's dialled it should work well. The 1000 has a lot of torque so a 174 would be a nice combo with that sled.

Cooling

I'm not running at front cooler (cracked and supposedly the crack quite often so I removed it) could I possibly have cooling troubles with the 174? Just running the rear cooler and thinking maybe it would not get enough snow on it with the 174?

the 05 had the front, tunnel and rear cooler, I ran just the center one on a turbo RX1 motor I put into the chassis and had no cooling issues, the standard tunnel cooler is huge, you will have no issues unless riding ice, but everyone does then.

The 1000 would be very well suited to the 174. Its a big heavy sled, so the extra footpring helps it a ton.
