2004 vs 2006

The '06 X had TEAM secondary, MXZ race seat, clear fuel tank, stainless steel braided brake line, luggage rack deleted, gonna need some help to remember track, carb, handlebar, and gauge change, '06 track was ported I remember
If you are looking at buying one or the other, the '06 was a better runner, I had one of both; an '04 800 151 and an '06 800 144. The '06 just had it going on a bit better than the models before.

I put way more miles on the '06 than the '04. I can't give an honest comparison for handling between them since I spent so much time on the '06.

No Summit came with a Team secondary; they did go to a roller secondary in '06. The biggest change was the Ptek motor with ECM instead of MPEM. Better skis and shock valving too so they did handle better but you can go aftermarket and make the '04 handle every bit as well.

Have FUN!

04 Summit X has stock stainless brake line and clear tank.

Thank you. Yeh heh No team S4$#come stock on consumer sled.
Secondary clutch information.
Secondary clutch information 2

I don't have much experience on the sled setup itself so I rely on my experienced test pilots who help me with clutch kits - one of biggest bang for bucks with the older iron helping to go against new iron is the track. The softer paddle powdermax and not powderlite(trenchking)

With great clutch fitness, bushings and clean shape, good drive belt, a great clutch kit on the older iron will help you beat up on the newer rigs.

My 04 Summit HM-X 151 w/1 port, lighten 26# with stock engine, pipe and can, RTK 13:1 head, 3" riser, AXCESS light weight seat, Snow Eliminator boards and D^Js mountain kit is very competitive with all year REVs and some XPs.

D^Js kit was the best bang for the buck:director:
