2004 dodge auto? will i regret it?

Do tell why you wouldn't get a diesel for your towing needs?

If you keep up on the maintenance they don't break down, I've never had a problem. I haven't seen the maintenance costs being to far different from my previous gas trucks and they (6.0L and 5.3L Chevy's) couldn't hold a candle to my diesels as far as towing.

Towing to the hills with a 4 place trailer every weekend, I'm passing my buddies in their 6.0L Chevy's plus my fuel mileage kills them.

You could buy a 8.1L or a V-10 to pull but your looking at well under 10mpg. Where's the benefit in that.

I meant "his" specific needs (light towing). I don't think a diesel is a good choice unless you really tow heavy frequently.

tell him to go to ats, suncoast, dtt or goerend
ive seen broken allisons, 4r100's and now that torqueshift has something in front of it (6.4)that can make enough power to break something other than itself (6.0) you will see broken transmissions.

Any of the big three will break with enough torque put through them.

Oh yea the mighty allison bows down to the 47re read this and then say the 618 isnt a strong design

this is the fastest street driven dmax 1030 ish hp full built lb7 twin turbo = lots of broken allisons

now that's funny. Why is it that the phords and the shivvy's always seem to resort to using something off of the ol' junky mopars? Ie hemi's and now the mighty 47 to make them go fast? If iam not mistaken the 47 and 48 is basically the same tranny that has withstood mopar horsepower for what? 30 or 40 years now? Yea i am talking about the 426 440 383.
