2003 skidoo summit 800ho rpm gauge stuck

the sled starts and runs good at low altitude..........but the rpm gauge doesnt move it is stuckon 2400rpm........if i go up in altitude and it sticks it starts to run real bad.....the higher i go the worst it runs............this started after i put a new short block in the sled.......anyone have any thoughts.......thanks

ahhhhhhhhhh............found the culprit the wiring harness that comes off the ignition was getting rubbed from the throttle cable.........been like thatfor a long time .......end of last season i put a new short block in and the wirings in the harness had moved during that process and bingo .....all sorts of problems .....just re taped them and the harness and its fixed;. also rerouted the harness that connects to the mpem under neath ...........this sled was sold to me with the harness rubbing on throttle cable...if i were u i would check yours out............
