2003 RX1 Problem

Hi all you sled freaks

I have a problem I need some help with.
My RX1 stoped running last year, it just shut off like someone turned the key while riding it. It has not had power since. If I disconnect the ignition key switch I can touch 2 of the prongs together and it turns over. I bought a new ignition switch but it did not help.

Any ideas?

I also took the kill switch off of my buddys and that did not work.

have you ckecked the fuses down on the right hand side of the delta box.

did you check power from batt/cable/ground,connection at starter

Do you have spark?
Does the engine crank when you turn the key?
some of them the pick up coil wire would touch the rotor and wear through
There are a few places where the wire harness on the 03 would get rub spot's, right side of the head, down in the nose by the ign box

no I have not. I will check it. Although when I was replacing the ignition switch I was following power with a tester light and touched 2 of the prongs in the wire harness together and the slead turned over. With the key I get nothing, not even on my dash.

Are there any fuses besides the ones next to the delta box, or the two next to the battery?

It didn't work. Can I just unhook it or do i need to bypass it?

although I did try replacing the kill switch with a buddys back when it happend but it did not work.

Wiring problem ???

03 RX-1's did not come with a wire support {clamp] in the side cover beside the stator. I have seen wires cut and shorted under the cover by the starter clutch drive. 04 and later RX-1"s came with a clamp.

There is a main fuse down on the solenoid, if that pops, it shuts every thing down. Also,the plug in that goes into the solenoid gets corroded and causes the same symptom.Disconnect the plug in,clean very thoroughly the connection points, then use a dab of dielectric grease, and re-install.
