2001 mountain max creeping

I have a 2001 mountain max bought it new added bender pipes love it. the problem is. It acts like the belt is to small. at a idle the belt squeaks and it creeps forward. It did this before the pipes so I know its nothing to do with any of that. Ideas?

Check clutch C to C, and on the Back side of the Secondary there are three small bolts with washers under the head, remove washers, or install thinner ones to get rid of belt squeal. Try to keep the belt as high in the secondary as possible without squealing.......

BC.

If the c to c is correct and you are runnin the correct 8dn belt then it might be the secondary clutch sheave spacing. Pull the secondary off. Take the the three 6mm bolts out one at a time and remove the washers from them and reinstall. Stock they come with two washers. In your case you will likely remove both washers from each bolt. The belt should ride about 1/8" high in the secondary. Good luck!

Watch those bolts on the back of the secondary. They wear with time. We almost ruined the threads on the secondary because the ends of the bolts were worn and deformed.
