There were more missing last night, different parties... The others were found around midnight. Locals to... (live just down the road from us) Like I said in other threads, it is plain nutz up here this New Years. and the snow sux....

Have buddy in columbine lake (without computer) who would like to assist SAR or local party if they are still missing. Where should I send him to meet?

Are they still missing?
 
snow is BEAT!! there have been soooooo many peeps up here this year. snowpack is below average.. If you head up illinoise pass or kaufman creek there are still some snow holding. Blue ridge is beat. I have been driving up to RE instead of riding out my back porch all week...



As for the search and rescue efforts, I don't know anything since we found the neighbors last night around midnight. Tell your buddy to call the sheriff's office to see if they want additional help.
 
Thanks bdubs, I was going to head for Kaufman after some WOT checks......So what's the deal with the high volume of sleds? Town seemed just as dead as it normally is a few weeks ago...:confused:
 
cruise through town and see how many of the rental units are sitting out... 0...
There are sooo many rentals... Our cabins are somewhat near on the trail rentals and they are jammed packed. One of there lovely customers creamed my truck and trailer yesterday as they thought they were still on their rental sled while driving home.. :mad:


oh by the way State Farm Ins. will leave you stranded no matter what your coverage level if you live in a "rural" area. "Like a good neighbor" they will close the door and shut off the lights when you come over... bastages
 
Whos the bastage?

Dubs, people may be missing and all you want to do is bash tourist. Grand Lake is known for being a tourist / family type area.
 
easy there cowboy. I have had to rescue a tourist last new years from a avalanche up here. I spent most of my day yesterday digging renters of their stucks and went out again to help search for our neighbors late last night.

Maybe there is a little somethin somethin behind my comments...

Spent the last week in GL had a great time riding. Will be going there more to try to learn the area. Did pull out my share of people. But still had a great week.
