2.6 powerclaw

Ive had this track on my turbo this year for almost 400miles in Colorado dry powder and almost every snow condition. Once it's broke in, you'll love it.

Anybody going to try the 3"PC?

Not I...I want to stay cool and not fight the Pro over heating...and I believe the Pro just dosen't have the HP to keep the track speed up with the 3", ( it takes power for the 3" and the tight clearance) I run it on my Turbo with great results, but I have the power to over come those 2 factors, and I run two sets of scratchers, and i don't ride turbo if it's a low powder day, just my thoughts. I don't run the 3" P C

1800 miles on turbo pro with the pc 2.25. thinking about going to the 2.6, anyone ever put them on backwords?

I am surprised at this as there are stock powered 174x3 pro's running around without issues, turning the track fine albeit a little slower.

I ride with a 174x3 etec and he loses track speed too, still tractors many places I cannot (compared to my 2.25PC).

I went to the 2.6 vs a 3 for cooling reasons also, I ride at home in the flat lands 40% of the time so cooling is a big deal here.

Was hoping to have a good comparison of his 174x3 stock etec against my 153x2.6 pro but he went turbo this year :(

One thing I noticed between the 2.25 and 2.6PC tracks. I am running 12F cooler this year with the 2.6 vs last year (2.25), no other changes that should effect cooling. Traction is MUCH better too!

I did go to a kmod coupled suspension but I cannot see how that could effect cooling.

I love my X3. It has the center ports so you don't need the anti-stab kit. I am running a stock motor and I have plenty of track speed/rpms. I also discovered the way to keep the whole thing operating at decent temperature even on hard trails. I use the new Ski Doo reversible scratchers combined with the Ski-Z deflectors on the skis. 130 degrees is the maximum I saw on the hard trail last week. Without the deflectors and with the stock scratchers last year, I was seeing temperatures that caused me concern. No more. I don't know anything about the Powerclaw 2.6 but I would be surprised if it works as well as the X3.

I dont think anyone is expecting the 2.6PC to perform like a 3", if it did they wouldnt have made a 3"PC.

That is the first i have seen of the ski-z deflectors. Do you have any issues with them while loading/unloading on a sled deck or enclosed?

Question

Can a person use the avid 7t combo drivers with the center drive and buy a 3 in powerclaw? I realize the track would have to be center punched. I'm waiting to see what Polaris comes out for 2016 tracks, but I would like to try this combo if it works.

2.6

I have an 11 Pro and have Avid Center 8 tooth drivers. Wondering if anybody tried to fit it without going to a 7 tooth on an 11 or 12. With Fridays release of the new 16 2.6 Polaris track, that if it works as well as Advertised I might try it under my old iron. I know it would be tight in front and not optimal clearance, just curious.
