Any suggestions for a better bearing.... I think 40 hours is unacceptable. We luckily made it back...

They've fixed and improved so many things for 2019 its really too bad the bearing setup wasn't changed. IMO its a weak link, and needs some attention, something along the lines of the TS dual row setup or a completely different style of bearing all together. I haven't gotten more than 50 hours out of one yet. Maintenance item for sure. While I understand the rational for the spherical bearing and the retainer I cant help but think there is some movement in there. Basically if your kit has 40 hours on it, change the bearings.

FYI the bearing is a AS205-014, NTN makes a good one

One thing I forgot to add is Camso does recommend pulling the seals on the bearings and greasing them periodically. While this can work it isn't all that practical. The best way to pull a seal is with the correct dental pick but lots/most guys don't have those so they end up using a screw driver which goons the seal also resulting in premature bearing failure. With proper chain tension and vigilant greasing maybe the bearings will last better but its still a PITA.

Might want to check and make sure nothings bent, which would inevitably cause misalignment and bearing failure. I spent 60 hours on that kit, 2 rounds of warrenty, including 4 new side panels that cracked in the same spots, even the updated "reinforced" panels, cracked frame, 3 secondary gears, chain and bearing. now its a 135lb story taking up space in my garage. This kit worked great when it worked, but...

Just out of curiosity what kit did you go to...

The camso is the only kit with a wobble flange but It seems like a good idea in case something isn't straight the bearings might last longer.

When i grease with dental pick i pry the seal out from the outer edge of the seal. It seems to me to be less likely to leak on the outer edge because it isn't the moving seal surface. Anyone have the official nasa proceeure documented?

Was that a 17 kit by chance?

18, our crew bought 4 of them, 3 of the 4 went back for warranty parts. The 4th has a torn side panel but doesn't get ridden much so hasn't had the pleasure of going through the warranty hassle yet.

I cracked 2 18 side panels, Camso warrantied them both overnight. The second panel came with the 2019 updates but painted silver to match the 2018 kit not black like the 19 kit so looks like they are giving the new updated 2019 style panels out as replacements for the old style.

TS jerked me around every time I needed warranty, in comparison Camso has been awesome to deal with. No questions asked here's your parts, get out and ride some more. One example the old single row bearing on my first TS ate into the drive shaft and destroyed the shaft. TS said that was normal wear due to use (30 hours) and declined my claim. I ended up having to replace everything on my own dime only to have them come out with the dual row set up once they admitted there was a problem then I had to buy it all again, they still said too bad for you even after they admitted the first system was a POS. Same story for their crappy plastic gears, it was our fault they failed every three days, so that's why I started making the steel gears. It was BS.

People don't forget crappy service, I'm done with TS they can go pound sand as far as I'm concerned.

Admittedly the Camso DTS kit is a work in progress, but Camso has stood behind their product 100% at least that's been my experience so far. I also think its important to have a good local dealer to work with which I do. If they come out with a monorail version of the Yeti Free Ride next year, that's what I will be on because I now have no fears of getting screwed over by Camso should I have any warranty issues for example on things like the Yeti still not having brakes that work consistently, the belt alignment problem etc etc the list goes on.

Wow! Overnight? From Quebec? You do have a good dealer. I’m not here to bash camso, just relaying my experience. TS I’ve never had to warranty anything through 2 kits and 140 hours or so combined ride time, so I can’t really speak to that. And yes I also have the updated 19 camso panels that were grey and reinforced, these to have failed.
