163 vs 155?

I'm looking for an 800 Dragon 155 with extended warranty and low miles...all I can seem to find are 163's...So I'm just wondering not ever having rode one...how much difference is a guy gonna notice? Especially in the tree's .I'm coming off a 06 151 summit 800.
Thanks,
Keeper

I have the 163 buddy rides a 155..the 155 is slightly and I mean slightly more flickable...but the 163 smokes it in the fresh deep stuff...and both are way more flickable then your 06(best friend has the same as you)..when he rode my D-8 the first time he moped around the rest of the day and then took his into the dealer the following monday complaining it just didnt run good...lol

Well you posted in mountain/deep powder go with the 163. They float better and climb better. On the dragons to turn them all you do is tilt your head. No matter what track.

i went with the 155 because i wanted the black hood this year, itll be interesting to see how it does in the powder, i dont think it will be a problem, if i do change tracks i'll go to a harder compound though, the stock poo tracks are just way to soft of lugs

In the deep pow the 163 will keep you out front and unstuck so you will be breaking trail a lot. I went from a 159 to 166 and will never go with a track shorter then a 163. The flotation is amazing, you can creep through the trees in deep pow, sidehill through the tight stuff real slowly and keep chuggin along. Go with the 163 for sure. The tracks are great in the harder snow too (not spring or icy stuff), sure some track spin, but coming back down the hill they stop you really well.

Just my experiences:beer;

Yeah it's common sense. The "163" is for intense mountain rider's the "155" is for just the common stuff. I personaly suggest the "155" It work's good on the doo's not too sure about the dragon's? your choice!

Anybody that says he rides a 155,,, & all his buddies ride 163's,,, And he has never been beat, must be riding with a bunch of momo's. Maybe he is the king of momo's

it is a lot of personal preference.
a 155 will get you anywhere a 163 will, it will just take a bit more work. The 163 will give you more forgiveness in the trees and climb higher in the really deep/steep. That being said, you will not be disappointed with a 155.
I personnally ride a 153 because i do not feel like i need anything longer, plus my sled has tendency to leave the ground. My riding is trees and hills and i have never gone longer than a 156" and have never been disappointed with it.

you'll be fine on the 155, the 163 guys are depending on the track&flotation to get the job done,least thats the way it is in the group I ride with!!

i'm yet to be beat by a 163, and probably wont be, at least not in my riding group

Well, if your friends don't have a hair dryer, then I can see where that would hold true......a turbo voids the comparison.

looks like he has a momo turbo ha ha.

what is a momo turbo? im not a believer in the longer track is better deal, i do a lot of jumping, and cornice dropping. yeah on deep powder days it may make some difference but its all based on riding style, the 163 is not always the best choice

I don't care what anyone else says, I have ridden a lot of different tracks and the 163 is going to take the 155. Maybe not on all snow conditions, but in most of them. I drop and jump my 166 with no prob, but then again I am in the trees riding tech stuff so jumping is not my pref. I will put this up against any shorter track any day, turbos not included :)

No matter what length, anyone adjusts to it and rides. If your stuck all the time, half chance it's not the track it's the pilot. I've rode 121" in 3 ft pow ( which really sucked ) and I've rode a 174" ( didn't notice much diff. from my 163" ) just depends on where you ride. These tracks have great floatation, just don't start trenching it, you'd be suprised what you can do in the trees with a little throttle control. I'm in the trees as much as I'am droppin' and climbing. But, still can't go wrong with either, a 155 will get you wear you want to go. :beer;:beer;
