Always wanted to go to Revelstoke......

Yesterday I was on a conference call, bored to death, and i decided to plug in to mapquest how many miles to Revy from Mahtomedi, MN

1546!!

With stops, thats like almost 30 hours in the truck,,,, and a sh!+ pile of gas to boot......

Some of my riding buddies have been out there, and love it..........

Help me rationalize the drive!

Fly out and rent.

I have friends that complain about the 257 mile drive, they don't know how lucky we have it!

The drive was 1100 miles for me.I put it on my bucket list and just did it.Was it worth it?You bet. Will I do it again yup.Worth every mile driven.Do give yourself a couple extra days for weather.

Jeff C I hear ya! I hate 4.00 diesel! I have mapquested the trip many times.

Try $1.39/liter aka $5 something for diesel.
Hope you have a tank in the back of the truck to carry extra fuel.
We just did a trip to Revelstoke and Pemberton. 2555 +/- roundtrip.

It definitely was worth it. Hook up with the guys on their Forum ride next year. You will meet some great guys that can ride like crazy and they might even show the good parts of Revy besides just Boulder Mountain.

I have a late trip planned for Colorado(1400 miles) and also checked miles to BC last week(2000 miles), ouch!

no different than the 30 hours from michigan to togwotee we drive every year. if the snow is good, and the terrain is awesome.... IT IS WORTH THE DRIVE!

Ski

Bite the bullet and do it at least once in order to cross it off the list. Riding in new places and having different experiences is what life is all about!!

My brother in law and I ended up going to Alaska this year for riding and all I can say is that it it was awesome and I have no regrets what so ever!!!!!

1710 miles, 31 hour drive for me. Its gonna happen though. Hopefully next season.

Is it better to cross the border in North Dakota or Montana. Where is there less hassle? We'd be hauling a couple barrels of race gas and more than likely WVO for the truck as well.

Turbomatt. WHEN I do it I am going to stay in USA most of the way because speed limits are slower and fuel is higher priced up north.... I think correct me if I am wrong.

Good call, on the speed limits and fuel prices. It is about 800 miles for us. I like to do 1 or 2 trips a year to Revy/Shuswap. Great snow and areas to ride!

The Roos Crossing is 24 hours and pretty much on the middle of nowhere. When we went to Canada we were the only ones in line there.

Coming back athe the crossing east of the Peace Arch it was a 45 minute wait just to get to the gate.

And you are correct the speed limit is higher in the states.
