Ok so im getting a 09 M1000 and riding in Revy or Golden BC. I will be 50/50 boon docking and hill climbing

I’m 6.2 260lbs with gear on and bodybuild so I can throw any sled around.

The sled will be stock first yr then getting SLP pipe, can, reeds etc next yr

What are everyone’s thoughts on track length? Will my weight and the engine mods over power the 153? Or do I need the 162 but will it suck in the tree's?

My local dealer suggests that I get the 153 when it’s stock. Then get a Camo extreme 2.5 155 and it will out climb even a 162 and wont suck in the tree's

Any input would be appreciated

162s dont suck in the trees. its much more foregiving, you dont need to keep it pinned all the time to keep going. I am only 5'6, 150 and ride an 07 M1k 162 in the woods and have not had a problem with the track being too long. If you are concerned about turning put some better skis on it. 162s are built for guys your size, get one.

^^^ agreed. i worried about this myself. i have had a 153 for the last 3 years and thought i would try something different this year. I love the 162. Rides down the trail every bit as good but boondockes and climbs much better. The only thing i dont like about it is listening to my riding partners compain cuz they cant keep up.

I'm 6' 3" and I had the 153 PC last year and put the 162 PC under the beast this year. I have no problem throwing it around in the trees. Works great boondockin is great. The track really shines when you climb. Get it you won't regret it. Oh the Power Claw is the bomb!:beer;

listen to him:D:D:D

i have a 06 M& 162" with the camo extreme 2.5" works awsome would not want a shorter track.I ride with a guy who has the m7 with the attack 20 backwards and in the deep powder he is stuckfest........my next sled will be 162" or bigger

the 09 162 and newer m's boonedock better than the 08 153. I was doing switch backs up hills to make the top on my 09 m1000 162, never had a sled that could do it before on steep hills. You ride in stiffer snow but at your weight and put them side by side the 162 will go farther.
