Looking to buy a 156x3" track, the 15 wide single ply track shows about 10lbs lighter than a 16 wide. I am thinking the weight savings is the way to go,
or is the wider track worth it???

It's a three inch...save ten pounds. Doubt you'll miss that whole inch vs ten pounds less rotating mass.

Pretty sure the 16" 156x3 is a 2ply track?

Plus it may be the only 3" paddles that cover the full 16 inch width. Most are the same as 15", with a little extra belt. Even the new Doo T3 isn't 16" wide on the paddles.

the 156X3X16 is 63lbs on digital scale and has a bigger footprint than the 163x15 track. And there is more paddle area pulling than a 174x15x2.5 track , its a great climber and flickable. It is a 2 ply track and tips bend nicely. you will not save 10 lbs cutting to 15 wide.
